More than any of the others IMO, this sounds like the combat music from the first game. It pretty much says, "You thought you could just raid our base and be done with us? Think again... we're back, and this time, we're not going away."
don't know about you guys but I actually really enjoy the xcom2 soundtracks, the battles get really intense. The music plays great with the heat of the battle.
@@VioIetteMolotov Not true. The general ambience of the non-combat tracks evoked the setting of "we're in a secret alien defense force underground, trying to solve this mystery" perfectly. Maybe not every combat track was great, but at least 3 + "Finale" were pretty solid. The soundtrack was more low-key to evoke the dark, mysterious theme of first contact. Whereas XCOM 2's soundtrack is basically just generic "it's time to save the world" music, and the non-combat tracks are just plain boring. "Warlock" and some of the battle tracks are good, but the rest were lackluster because it sterilized the theme as just typical action music instead of the more nuanced EU soundtrack, which was stylized in a Vangelis-esque 80's hybrid of electronic and classical. Though I honestly preferred the story of EU/EW, so that influences my judgment. If EW had the exact same gameplay as XCOM 2 + had a similar world map mechanic, I would play it over XCOM 2 any day.
I like how this one has just a bit of Enemy Unknown's theme in it. Just enough that you can recognize it, but not enough for it to take over the track.
A twist of Enemy Unknown, but a 8oz cut of the the leitmotif from Terror from the Deep - one of the most appropriately atmospheric and claustrophobic scores I've had the pleasure of. Niiiiiiiiice
Favorite track from the game. Most games i play I don't fully notice the music because I'm so caught up in the task I'm preforming in game. So if a song catches my ear then that means it's a really good song to me. This is the first song in the game I actually noticed.

This music played during the final mission when I have to kill 3 avatars and endless waves of enemies. It really gives me a feel of "I'm saving the world" especially at last when there is my avatar and enemy avatar left for 1v1 (It's in commander difficulty btw my squad got wiped during the final part of the mission)
Connor Mac in my first play through on Veteran, Jane Kelly landed a 15% chance to hit and crit on the final avatar, thus ending the mission with only a couple minor injuries in what was just starting to spiral out of my favor. The shot was halfway to 3/4ths the way across the map, realistically there was no way she could have hit. I had nothing better to do with her so I said f*** it, take the shot. Didn’t think it would hit, wasn’t the first time she surprised me like that.
Connor Mac My entire team was either stunned, stasis’d, or panicked during the battle with the last Avatar... except for my faithful Specialist, Sakura ‘Savior’ Nakamura. She ran through 4 Overwatch shots to stand on the tile adjacent to the final boss, and took him out with an exact damage Disruptor Rifle critical. Incredible moment, even more incredible game.
