Spot on comments. No question she deserved to win both Miss India and Miss Universe in 2000. India's recent pageant contestants should really take Lara's insights very seriously at this point. But I think she really raised the bar in terms of all-around pageant preparations, and you can clearly see it on a lot of pageant contestants worldwide after her year, in and out of Miss Universe. Her performance when she won is really among the all-time most legendary.

A very sensible and highly intellectual woman. Very good observation on how pageant fanatics rally for their girls on social media in countries like Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam. Unfortunately, in India people tend to scrutinize and constantly compare their winners to past international titleholders which is a good thing in a way. But time has changed and Indians should realise that with such a huge population, they can defy all odds and make their girl get into headlines if they give their full support to her on social media.

India is the legitimate powerhouse pageant during 90s and thats true! We almost thought back then that pageantries are meant for Indians. There were no social media before. Philippines started 2010s were the social media is an emerging powerful platform and currently conquering pageantries I just hate Thailand making false claims that theyre calling themselves powerhouse in pageantry, just love to slap them that India and Philippines are both in pageant history!
Can Lara has her own talk show please? Like I don't know why this haven't been a thing. Give the pageant winners more platforms to talk at than those who clearly lacked what these beautiful, gracious and talented women have: eloquence.

I think internet trolling isn't a sensation just in india but its universal . And blaming candidates for not being well equipped for MU is like calling the kettle black Choosing representative just 3 weeks to 1 month before the pageant is nothing but a disaster . Many other countries choose their reps almost a year before the international pageant in order to get time for grooming but with Ms diva it's more about choosing someone and then letting them fend on their own.... ridiculous... no wonder india hasn't placed in the top 5 in years . It was much better off under the Femina group itself . And if u want India to take these winners serious you should be serious about them too
