In 1970, Cadillac released the largest-ever V8 in a post-war production car, the huge 500-cubic-inch 8.2-liter V8, used exclusively for the first time before becoming standard on all Cadillac models except the post-1975 Seville. The Cadillac Fleetwood, one of the cars, was Cadillac's most luxurious sedan, one of the largest cars Cadillac produced, with the widest interior width of any car until the 1990s GM models. Available with an endless list of options and equipment to rival most modern cars, there was only one product that the Cadillac line was missing - a station wagon.
Traditional Coachworks Ltd of Chatsworth, California, noticed this and came up with their own version of the Cadillac station wagon. With factory approval, Cadillac Castillians were sold new through Cadillac dealerships and shipped as finished cars from the factory to Traditional Coachworks so that they could convert the car to the highest standards of Castilian Estate Wagon specifications. Featuring a large tailgate, a striking sloping roofline and even a surprisingly modern roof spoiler, the Castillian in no way detracted from Cadillac's famous lines, retaining them wherever it could, even in the shape of a tailgate that had the same boxy bulge as and the Fleetwood sedan. Complete cars cost nearly twice as much as a regular Cadillac Fleetwood, depending on options, of course, often around $30,000.
Their other main model was the Cadillac Mirage, a two-door pickup truck based on the Cadillac Coupe DeVille that sold in much larger numbers.
    Technical details:
    Engine V8:
    Power (kW/hp) - 160/218
    Displacement (cm³) - 8194
    Transmition: 3 - Automatic.
