Thank god you share this, i have a Jumper multiprotocol transmiter and i had problems binding It with the drone, i folowed the steps in the video just as if it was that transmiter and It worked just fine. Thanks
I have been flying 3 years, and the fix id binding takes me half an hour, and I have never recognized when I was successfull and why. Somehow I missed the thing that after the non fix id bind, during the connection is on, i should set and bind the fix id. Every day I learn something. THX

Played around for awhile trying different things because I didn't have a backup to use so I was forced to figure out how to get it working again or buy a different setup. Dear sir im using my devo 7 for a walkera F210 3D, and want to use it on a Storm drone that i installed the RX701 on, and i want to be able to use the transmitter on them both, how do i do that, it is factory setup for the F210 3D, and i don't want to screw that up, can it be set up for 2 individual drones with separate identifications for receiving one that is on and bind with whichever is currently active ? how do you like the rx701 overall for your quad? just ordered mine from Amazon and currently have the Runner 250, soon to be shelved and building from scratch using the Devo 7 and RX701. Just curious on how it responds and feels. thanks for the vid too
Some people have issues with it, but I haven't so far. It's been a great low cost setup, but I'll upgrade later for additional features the this one lacks. But again, so far I'm not disappointed with it.

Hi. Just wondering where did you get the bind plug? I have a Rodeo 150 with a Devo 7 already. Last night I bought a Rodeo 110 & a F210 both BNF. I never got a bind plug with my radio so I am seriously hoping one comes with BNF models. Any help appreciated.
Most Walkera Devo RX will work but they're associated with the number of channels. So depending on how many channels you need is limited to 7 with the Devo 7 TX. Get a 10 channel TX you'll still be limited to 7 usable channels. A 4 channel RX will work, but your limited to the 4 channels. Hope that helps.

Well I've always used radiolink, got my first Devo recently, so I don't know the menu at all. You flew through the setting on the Devo so fast I couldn't tell what you were doing. Also, I have never heard of a "binding plug" before, is that specific to the Devo receivers?
All I'm doing is holding down the buttons to fast scroll to the bottom of the list. As for the bind plug all it it is is a servo connector with a jumper pins from the negative and signal pins connected together without the power wire.
When I connect my bind plug to the batt port and connect power the led blinks fast. Ignored it and followed all your steps but no success. Seems no matter what I do the red led blinks fast. Any suggestions?
How is your receiver wired? Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your bind plug? Like the wire is making the appropriate connection? You could test the continuity of the bind plug to the is not the problem with a multimeter.

You're welcome. Glad I could help. The arming status is setup in your flight controller and not through the transmitter. Depending on how it is setup is how you move the transmitter sticks. For example, I use OpenPilot/LibrePilot with my arming status at with the throttle stick to arm with "yaw right".so it depends on how your flight controller is set to arm.
Please can you help I have made 2 wlkera 250 runners The problem Is i can bind 1 of them but the other will not ,and unless i do the whole binding thing again with the other one i cant fly it How can i bind the 2 to the same Devo 7 transmitter Many thanks
You can bind 2 receivers by making sure both Fixed ID codes are the same. But be are if you have both receivers powered on at the same time they will both operate simultaneously as well.

Danny wonderful video thank you. I have one question for you, hopefully not a dumb one. I pulled my RX from the bird so it is not connected to anything right now. When you plugged the bind plug in, you plugged it into the BAT port on the RX. How do I power the RX if the BAT port is being used by the BIND. I am assuming I can plug the battery into one of the AUX ports, either AUX 1 or 2, is that correct? Thanks again for the info it is invaluable!

Hey Danny, Thanks for reply. I don't remember. I had problems with it when I got it with my walkera racer 250. I ended up throwing a tantrum and stomping both racer and controller. I purchased a spectrum DX6i and ordered everything to build from scratch. I'm in the air and loving it. This is my first and god its insane!! Thanks for video love how everyone is sharing there knowledge. I would have never been able to build mine without all the help i've found on here!

Hello Danny I saw the video on binding Devo-7 to RX701, very good but could you do the same for me except the Devo 7 binding with walkera master CP helicopter and the RX2637H-D receiver. I really would appreciate it I have had the master CP for about a year and never got it off the ground. out of the box I thought i would just take a look and i must have messed up

The l.e.d. on the rx isn't flashing any more but I'm not getting any response from the quad. I am very new to this and am trying to get into this hobby and would really appreciate any feedback as to how to get this thing flying. Thanks!
+Dusty Johnson what setup do you have and what troubleshooting have you done? Is the receiver and transmitter bound? Are you getting any channel movement in your flight controlled software? You can also connect a servo directly to a channel and text 3 it there to see if it's properly bound.
I don't have am RX801 to test. From what I can tell from the manual canceling the fixed ID and setting it up in the transmitter would be the same. I can't guarantee it will work though as I do not have an RX801. If you do try it please let me know if it does it doesn't work and I'll update the description.
hi thanks danny i got it yes it just binded the same im just trying to get my nighthawk 280 pro set up but i new to this lol i was setting up my receiver but my pitch & yaw is reversed how do i change that danny and when im on motor testing its singing & bleeping away but dosnt stop and only getting 1-2 motors starting up will this be bad motor calibrations or somthing else lol
+William Davie Preferably you would change the reverse settings in your GCS. If your unable to change it there then you can go to the FUNCTION setting on the Devo 7 and select the first OPTION REVSW. From there can can choose NORM or REV for ELEV, AILE, THRO, and RUDD.
+Danny Om thanks Iv got my receiver bond and fitted in my nighthawk plugged in to baseflight and everything looking good but my aux2 move,s with my throttle lol and I'm still having problems with my calibrations as I can't get all my motors starting up and a few others have told me to flash it with cleanflight these ARF quads ar a nightmare to set up when you haven't got a clue what your doing lol

Great ideo I have a problem i hope you can fix I have done all what you have mentioned the problem none of the switches are now getting reconised I went into multi wii and flicking all the switches nothing happens Even when i load default none Hope you can help as i have cleared the devo 4 times now and still the same I want to be able to enable the buzzer if lost and flight mode switch as well as an arming switch I do hope you can help many thanks Graham
@spooner Graham. It's hard to say what the issue is unfortunately. Depending on what channel you're using and what switch you're trying to setup. I don't use Multi Wii so I'm sorry that I can't help you there.

Yes, the Devo 7 does have failsafe. The default value setting is for it to "HOLD". It can be found in the manual on page 34 for Helicopter and page 66 for Airplane.
+Danny Om I did this and I messed up the settings already installed for my 350pro. Can you show how to connect multiple acft in the menu sys. Example when I'm done with the 350pro I want to fly my racer. How do I switch from one acft to another?
Dale Gann as long as you're using The Devo 7 and a compatible receiver like The RX701 connected to the flight controller (PWM - one signal wire per channel) then yes, it will work. It will not bind with other manufacturers receivers such as FrSky or Spektrum.
im new to this and having one of these...i got through the first little bit of steps...but cant get to the part to run it so it actually binds...i hope i havent changed ant settings on my radio...i just need the basic ones so i can learn to fly it firsrt
+Dale Gann sounds like you're having an issue trying to do fixed ID. Fixed ID isn't necessary, but it allows you to turn on your transmitter and quad right away and fly. Without Fixed ID you have to wait like 10 of 15 seconds for the trim on the screen to stop scrolling to bind. Just takes more time.

hiya danny sorry this is me just getting back to this i tryed the set up in cleanflight but i wasn,t having any luck iv changed a few things and i think am getting closer haha iv got it on the right stickmode but i just cant get my pitch and roll swapped round when i push my roll its working my pitch and pitch moves my roll and pushing roll to left makes pitch go up lol i cant seem to get these two channels swapped round i even tryed swapping the plugs on the receiver danny i added a video as i was setting it up last week in cleanflight if you want to take a look at it but its a bad video lol this is new to me making video but i was going to make a better one more clearer do you have a video walk throw of your settings or setup for your devo 7 tx& rx and need to work out how to add my failsafe to my gear switch as well danny can you help me out with this if you can danny
+William Davie I haven't used my Walkera transmitter or receiver in months. It's been replaced by a FrSky Taranis X9D Plus. It sounds like you have the pitch and roll reversed on the receiver. I know you said you already tried swapping them with no success. But try this. If you have a servo plug it in to the throttle channel and move the stick to confirm it works. If it doesn't then there's more troubleshooting to be done. If it works them move it to the pitch and move the pitch stick. Keep doing this until you've identified each channel with the correct wires. This will also help you identify the correct wire for the gear channel so you assign it to your failsafe. Hope this helps.

I feel like you went way too fast with the first step. Some of us haven't used a devo 7 before. I heard you say "turn off the fixed ID" and then go through a long button mashing series that made no sense to me. I tried to go to the manual to go through those steps but ended up with a transmitter that gives me an error message when I turn it on. Could you slow down please?

i followed every step..but right after i pull the reset plug out of my srd250 while its live..i would still get a fast flashing red light...my devo 7 was reset..ANY IDEAS OR ADVICE..DRONE NOOB..LOL

My Devo 7 is a waste of money. Brand new and it can not bind to my Walkera 250 Racer with an rx 701 or my Walkera 350 Pro with an rx 703. I'm going to burn $1000 worth of equipment in a pit. I wish your video instructions would have worked for me.
I went through the binding process for all of the equipment (all bought separately, bnf) and cannot arm the motors for either. There are no vids for the correct pin outs for the rx and the Chinese manuals are not even worth their weight in toilet paper.

I did, was the setting on the controller board software, however, can not use the other command keys to program in failsafe, point of interest etc.
Which port is powering the RX701 receiver? ...because my ESCs are the Opto type without any BEC.
You can power the receiver through any channel as long as you have the correct voltage.

Actually I fixed it. I took apart the receiver and found a loose solder joint on the batt port. Now it works! Thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure what receiver you're working, but it should work for the RX70X receivers.
Could I also use the same steps on an rx 702 receiver?

+Dusty Johnson what setup do you have and what troubleshooting have you done? Is the receiver and transmitter bound? Are you getting any channel movement in your flight controlled software? You can also connect a servo directly to a channel and text 3 it there to see if it's properly bound.

I don't have am RX801 to test. From what I can tell from the manual canceling the fixed ID and setting it up in the transmitter would be the same. I can't guarantee it will work though as I do not have an RX801. If you do try it please let me know if it does it doesn't work and I'll update the description.
hi thanks danny i got it yes it just binded the same im just trying to get my nighthawk 280 pro set up but i new to this lol i was setting up my receiver but my pitch & yaw is reversed how do i change that danny and when im on motor testing its singing & bleeping away but dosnt stop and only getting 1-2 motors starting up will this be bad motor calibrations or somthing else lol
and sorry i did it with fixxed turned on aswell some people dose it with fixxed turned of danny
+William Davie Preferably you would change the reverse settings in your GCS. If your unable to change it there then you can go to the FUNCTION setting on the Devo 7 and select the first OPTION REVSW. From there can can choose NORM or REV for ELEV, AILE, THRO, and RUDD.

Purchased from HeliPal. Mine are rated at 4S and I have them wired in parallel. Here's a link to their website for LEDs. I didn't link it to any one specific as you may run a 3S or may like other colors or styles that they have to offer.

@spooner Graham. It's hard to say what the issue is unfortunately. Depending on what channel you're using and what switch you're trying to setup. I don't use Multi Wii so I'm sorry that I can't help you there.
I pulled out the bind plug but the red light stopped. It's flashing when the plug is inserted. What's wrong?

Yes, the Devo 7 does have failsafe. The default value setting is for it to "HOLD". It can be found in the manual on page 34 for Helicopter and page 66 for Airplane.
Danny do another video just the TX menu, you lost me after the you hit three buttons. I had no idea of where you went in the menu sys.

Dale Gann no, this is only compatible with Walkera receivers such as the RX7xx receivers.

Dale Gann as long as you're using The Devo 7 and a compatible receiver like The RX701 connected to the flight controller (PWM - one signal wire per channel) then yes, it will work. It will not bind with other manufacturers receivers such as FrSky or Spektrum.

+Dale Gann sounds like you're having an issue trying to do fixed ID. Fixed ID isn't necessary, but it allows you to turn on your transmitter and quad right away and fly. Without Fixed ID you have to wait like 10 of 15 seconds for the trim on the screen to stop scrolling to bind. Just takes more time.

hiya danny sorry this is me just getting back to this i tryed the set up in cleanflight but i wasn,t having any luck iv changed a few things and i think am getting closer haha iv got it on the right stickmode but i just cant get my pitch and roll swapped round when i push my roll its working my pitch and pitch moves my roll and pushing roll to left makes pitch go up lol i cant seem to get these two channels swapped round i even tryed swapping the plugs on the receiver danny i added a video as i was setting it up last week in cleanflight if you want to take a look at it but its a bad video lol this is new to me making video but i was going to make a better one more clearer do you have a video walk throw of your settings or setup for your devo 7 tx& rx and need to work out how to add my failsafe to my gear switch as well danny can you help me out with this if you can danny
+William Davie I haven't used my Walkera transmitter or receiver in months. It's been replaced by a FrSky Taranis X9D Plus.
It sounds like you have the pitch and roll reversed on the receiver. I know you said you already tried swapping them with no success. But try this.
If you have a servo plug it in to the throttle channel and move the stick to confirm it works. If it doesn't then there's more troubleshooting to be done. If it works them move it to the pitch and move the pitch stick. Keep doing this until you've identified each channel with the correct wires.
This will also help you identify the correct wire for the gear channel so you assign it to your failsafe.

+jake2184 Hey man sorry for the late reply I was in Asia. Check to see that you have the wires all in the right place. I brought mine to a hobby store and the guy helped me out with mine. He got my LED's on then I was able to bind it following this video!

I feel like you went way too fast with the first step. Some of us haven't used a devo 7 before. I heard you say "turn off the fixed ID" and then go through a long button mashing series that made no sense to me. I tried to go to the manual to go through those steps but ended up with a transmitter that gives me an error message when I turn it on. Could you slow down please?

i followed every step..but right after i pull the reset plug out of my srd250 while its live..i would still get a fast flashing red light...my devo 7 was reset..ANY IDEAS OR ADVICE..DRONE NOOB..LOL

The receiver is suppose to flash fast after pulling the bind plug out. When it's inserted before powering it on it should be flashing slow.

My Devo 7 is a waste of money. Brand new and it can not bind to my Walkera 250 Racer with an rx 701 or my Walkera 350 Pro with an rx 703. I'm going to burn $1000 worth of equipment in a pit. I wish your video instructions would have worked for me.

I went through the binding process for all of the equipment (all bought separately, bnf) and cannot arm the motors for either. There are no vids for the correct pin outs for the rx and the Chinese manuals are not even worth their weight in toilet paper.
