Somehow it took me this long to realise that UI Goku's initial braindeadness directly links with the whole purpose of UI: to completely dodge and counter attacks without any form of consciousness in one's actions
Which is why I call this game the only game to have canon ui goku. Nobody thinks about playing this character they just kinda click things and look at the screen.

if the part at 1:27 is anything to go off of, Ginyu was actually following UI's movements, meaning he could see him, therefore meaning Ginyu is closer to achieving Ultra Instinct than we thought

Honestly, I think the worst part of UI at this point is just seeing him in every single match. You know how people always point out that the first day of a DLC, everyone is playing that character? UI's day has lasted for over 15 months now

This reminds me of when Leroy Smith first came out in Tekken 7, all of his moves by themselves (Excluding his parry) weren't all that special, but it's the fact that he had all of them that made him broken. He had a low crushing launcher, a sweep that always caused a knockdown and was very fast, a mid launcher that was neutral on block and could be spammed, a roundhouse with absolutely crazy range and hit mid so it couldn't be ducked or sidestepped, and that darn parry that activated quickly and was really easy to do. Again, the moves by themselves were pretty standard, but they were never all on one character meaning he had so many options when it came to starting combos and countering. He had a counter for literally everything.

Edit: Also Bardock can do a similar side-switch to UI shown at 8:28 by using his double jump to get behind the opponent. However, it is still less optimal for the sake of damage. It does make me feel dumb for using Bardock in that example though lmao

Yeah I was going to say. I know it's easy to miss, but I've had the rather funny (but mostly sad) observation that people thought GT Goku was the only character with a non-scaling level 3, and they now think Z Broly is the only character with a non-scaling level 3.
@@rosannronchetti2035 I main her and I literally use it as a super dash extension lol. I don't think she can do it against Gotenks and Nappa though and UI has a much easier time pulling it off so UI is still fairly privileged in that regard.

Of all the little edits in this video, Ginyu's eyes moving at 1:27 is my favorite as he realizes what a terrible mistake he's made. That said, confirmation that Videl still sucks is almost as funny, as is seeing that Zamasu is supposedly still just as bad. Those poor bastards.

Zamasu is good now man, just didn’t read the patch I guess. He has insane dog output with assist anywhere on screen with extremely good neutral thanks to the flight buffs.

1:45 For some reason, the backflip into Level 3 reminds me of Magnamalo from Monster Hunter. It always starts its desperation move by flipping backwards, then roaring and powering up. It helps that said DM consists of dashing all over the place, too.

I think the normal projectile invincibility on flips is cool, but the super projectile invincibility should only be for ex version
The invincibility against supers shouldn't exist at all. Only supers should counter supers.

@@eseleoseefe-aluebhosele6577 to also be fair, dhc can be a surprisingly good option for switch out in sticky situations depending on super, such as a long lasting beam super into a shorter close range super that doesn't take as long. It can be hard to punish and can even catch an opponent who tries to teleport. Ui flips totally negate that option.
I mean, technically you can only dodge a level 3 with a EX version as its usually too fast for the non EX version start up.
@@ignisalge7156 I think it should exist, mainly because everyone forgets he can do that since only the EX version is usually fast enough to dodge supers for people to notice he's even flipping through beams.

But honestly nobody even uses the flip for that so might as well keep it, and it only works on Ki based supers and not melee supers anyway.
I personally feel that all of his options are made that way to try to recreate the UI feeling. Ultra Instinct is all about not thinking, just letting the body react on its own. With UI Goku and his moveset, you don't have to think nearly as much for certain things as you would have to do with other characters (rejumps, knockdowns, you get me). You can just mash on reaction. But that's just a theory, a *gAME THEO-*

Just tossing this out there: You could do a video on Roshi's leap and Kamehameha Boost, how it differs from Superdash, but especially how it compares to Videl's dodge in terms of being a character property that deviates from an otherwise-universal option (since Roshi's case seems to favor him more than Videl's favors her).
His Kamehame dash is soooo fucking fun for mix ups. Especially when you can get it down and can Kamehame-ha around the screen to reposition yourself.
Honestly I still really like him. UI is my favorite form and everything he does just kinda leaves me like OH GOD HE'S COOL even if I'm on the receiving end. I'm a skill-less idiot though so maybe I just suck too bad to be phased by losing to a specific character.

I think it says a lot about UI that I really only pick him when I'm in a pure state of Coping And Seething™ and I just want to have easy games. I don't win more often with him than I do with my mains, but it's so so so so SO much easier.

You frogot Ui lvl1 counter, can also counter assists; but if you crouch on your assist call; Ui will whiff the lvl1 counter, giving you a free punish. You spend 1 assist, Ui spend 1 bar to get punished~

Puff is simply a lame character to play against and watch, it's probably objective at this point. the way that puff's playstyle revolves around camping you out really isn't fun for a lot of opponents and spectators. But it's still nice to have a few defensive characters here and there, even in mostly aggressive unga bunga games; because it can bring some variety to the way you play the game.
even now, his defense is pretty unmatched. the sheer amount of defensive options gives him a shit ton of flexibility to turn the whole game into his favor, even with the balance patches.

Ultra instinct is a busted defense machanims on DBS and its so hard to achive no GoD has masterd it but i do think the devs for DBFZ did a lack luster job at translating him at least he got his nerfs now so he isint super duper busted

I like how at 8:13 you pointed out that ui Goku’s stuff isn’t that relevant at high levels because players need to understand that the game is really at a good state rn. No characters are broken and everything is pretty balanced, only thing stopping you from punishing mashers that make characters feel annoying is the frame delay, knowledge of the game, or you’re a masher yourself 😃
Also most patch notes aren’t going to effect the majority of players either. They nerfed ui Goku pretty hard ngl but that didn’t stop ppl from running the same teams they did before

Hey don’t worry, after the credits were done Hades said it would be 25 years until another Kid Icarus game would be made. So just 15 more years and we can listen to just as great soundtrack, if not greater, again. Uprising does have an amazing OST, my favourite would probably be Dark Pits theme, or Thunder Cloud Temple. Although I do love the first levels flight theme.
I just hope Nintendo doesn’t take the joke literally, run with it, and wait to release a sequel until 2037.

I haven't played this game yet but that is what ultra instinct is at least it's accurate, probably most definitely not fair but accurate. Basically everyone has to have one goku on their team so that if you fight a goku you'll have a goku with older instinct to fight against.
