    They haven't improved the battery and charging but they have improved the processor and optimised the overall current draw so there actually is an improvement by 20%. I just hate it when people just look at paper data and not the overall picture

      I totally agree with you. I had a pixel 6 pro and just received my 7 pro in the mail today. One of the first things I did was go to the camera, and check to see if the noise got better and it's improved but still pretty poor, especially if there's not much light. Just watched a video comparison to an iPhone in lowlight which did remarkable better in low light conditions compared to the pixel.

    When you reviewers compare to the pixel 6 to the 7, are you comparing the pixel 6's past year to the 7? Or are you comparing the pixel 6as it stands now on Android 13 to the pixel 7? Just asking because my pixel 6 pro is a different phone today compared to how it launched a year ago.

  • @JakeFromSaltFarm
    @JakeFromSaltFarm 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Can I be honest. When critiquing the 30W charging... Doesn't a faster charging phone equate to a shorter battery life? I am legitimately asking this question as I am not educated on this without further research. I just bought the 7 pro day 1 and I personally have zero complaints about the speed in which the device charges.
    The adaptive charging is also a super nice touch that I think needs to be mentioned more, as I feel this saves the life of the battery, and not many if any manufacturer of phones does this. I've had a few hiccups and haven't owned a Pixel since the 2XL, but this thing feels solid.

    Hey! There's often another issue overlooked by reviewers. It is its 5G and 4G connectivity. Google has actually artificially blocked the phone from connecting 5G networks abroad, in countries they say they don't support. We know this because a simple root and module/patch actually allows the phone to connect to all 5G networks globally. Its not a big deal if you do not do much travelling, but if you travel a lot, it becomes extremely problematic. It has been the same with all pixel 5g phones.

    The Pixel absolutely need a micro-SD card slot.
    I ended up with two phones, the Pixel 7 Pro for photography, communication and secure apps, and a top tier Chinese phone (with 3.5 mm jack and 1 TB micro-SD card) for multimedia, like watching movies and listening music; the Pixel hasn't enough memory, nor I can swap it around.
    Dear Google, Apple is heading into an abyss because they've became maniac in removing all accessories of a phone. Removing the SIM card was a pure manifestation of their manic state, it served no purpose and inconvenienced all their fans (Android has users, Apple has fans). So Google, do what your customers ask, and don't follow Apple into a black hole!

    Pixel 7 user here, and these are some of my issues:
    1. Green tinting on my unit when the refresh rate drops to 60Hz. However it seems to be fine on 90Hz until I change the brightness to around 40% and the green tint appears even on 90Hz.
    2. Short scrolling feels a bit weird but I'll give it a pass.
    3. Main camera distorts close objects a lot. Objects as far as 2 feet would also be distorted at the edges.
    4. Heating. This phone just heats all the time, no matter what I do. While I do live in a tropical region, but the other phones I have had earlier didn't heat like this on normal usage.
    5. Earpiece and speaker act up while on calls. I can't seem to find a way to replicate it.
    6. Slow charging.
