I'm curious to know, what is your education background? Also what textbooks did you read to learn all the information you currently know about doing all this motion analysis?
I have a PhD in biomechanics, I taught myself motion analysis in my undergrad, and have supplemented my knowledge with peer reviewed articles and discussion forums, not textbooks.
We use double-sided tape. The cheapest tape that works well is carpet tape, but it's pretty hard on the clothes. The tape we use is toupee tape, it's expensive but it holds well and doesn't harm the clothes.
Thanks for these tutorials on Kinovea - Very useful. Only recently came across this app. Have a quick question: cannot get Kinovea (V9.3) to save a zoomed-in vid so that the created vid shows exactly what is seen within the app. The saved vid shows only the original non-zoomed clip although it does have speed control, key frame pauses and does crop to the selected frames in the working zone. Have I missed selecting some option?
Hello, I'm wondering if it's possible to calibrate the video using a tape measure on the ground (if you are measuring different distance from the left foot to a post in front of you) instead of using these foam balls? If yes, how would one go about doing this?
Hello, I am very happy to see your video. I am also using this software, but I have not found a good body surface marker. May I ask where you bought the marker stickers for customers in the video, can you provide a purchase link? Thank you and LOOK forward to your reply
The markers are just foam balls cut in half with a dot colored in with a marker. Any craft store (or Amazon) will have them, I recommend using 3/4" or 1" foam balls for most tasks, but for finer tracking (such as on a hand) you may need to go as small as 1/4".
Yes! If you go to preferences --> Drawings --> Opacity, un-check visible for the entire video and set both opaque duration and fading duration to 1 frame
Great help

Where did you purchase those motion caption markers?
From a craft store, they are just foam balls cut in half, and then a black circle is filled in with a permanent marker.

Hello. I want to make some for example circles in one key frame and don't see it on another. Can I do it?
Yes! If you go to preferences --> Drawings --> Opacity, un-check visible for the entire video and set both opaque duration and fading duration to 1 frame
