I'm so proud and excited to introduce to you my new Ibanez signature guitar - the Ibanez TQM2-CUF - featuring a stunning charcoal flame maple top with scraped binding, alder body and roasted maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and an all matte finish. I worked with Ibanez to produce my custom SSH config TQM pickups for this amazing guitar too, with incredible dynamic range and clarity. My only wish was that it was a blue denim finish... but it's because I'm a sucker for nostalgia. It was so close!! But this sounds ABSOLUTELY amazing.
Oh man, same! Though you know the flamed top and its contrast with the natural finish on the back gives me nostalgia for the (censored) jam early TQ youtube days anyway!
Oh yeah, this is one of the best-looking signature guitars to come out in the last few years. Love it.
I'd love to see you do a review of this guitar in the way you did with the older ones. It looks beautiful and I want to buy it, but it's quite a chunk of change for us normal folk and this isn't really the best demo of the sounds, despite being a cool track.

Tom, its looks a bit like you're going back to your Suhr days. Do you miss them? It does look very sexy though.. Noice
Same neck shape? Same radius? They need to do something about that. Mix it up a little…maybe make the neck just a little bit slimmer and the radius a little flatter. I love my AZ2402 but what I really want is a 22 fret version with a more modern / slimmer neck.

Look to be the screw lock tuners which is a shame, imo the thumbscrew ones are much more convenient.

Suggesting he was all technique with no melody is just simply untrue.

GREAT!... Quick question... Only 22 frets? Don't like 24, or has it something to do with the position of the neck pickup, like others have said about other " signature guitars "...
Tom’s signatures have always been 22 frets, from the start. There are plenty of other 24 fret AZ models to choose from. I actually have the 2402, but I would rather have a 22 fret version. Most of the time I don’t play the upper two frets. On a 22 fret guitar, the neck pickup definitely sounds a bit warmer, and the neck tends to be lighter (since it’s physically smaller and has less wood) and easier to play. Balances a bit better too. In the old days of boxy vintage traditional neck joints, you could barely play above the 17th fret, but now with more modern designs, even 22 fret guitars have amazing upper fret access.
