People giving the goalies shit like they could do so much better💀 honesty, plus it's not supposed to be that serious yk it's a fun charity event people are watching to see some goals and just have fun cut the goalies some slack it's the hardest potion on the field it's something you have to do to understand how hard it actually is.
Most people could actually do so much better, there are some kids in my school who plays as a better goalie
Charlie Morley (sidemen keeper in the previous match) was a pretty good keeper. Hope he’s back in future charity matches.
Most able bodied fit humans would who understand football would. One was previously obese, slow and had poor reaction times and the other played like he had cerebral palsy

Yeah the goalie play wasn’t great compared to previous sidemen charity match games, but it allowed for a lot of scoring which makes for a more entertaining game and better content.
Let's not forget about the last save. Pieface made the crowd go wild like they scored a goal which was amazing

It's funny because Filly's goal is probably the one most likely to go in in pro play. See it all the time. The ball's struck fast and true, the keeper's view is blocked by 3 of their own players, there's no time to react by the time they can see where it's ending up.

You talking about ice hockey but it's a lot harder to be a football goalie. There's some angles that are unreachable. The filly goal might look easy to save for you but it was right in the corner at such a high speed , got to take into account all the players infront at the angle it was shot. Most professional goalies are 6'2+ and would find it hard saving that. The elite would but that's the top 1%. No none professional is saving that
I don’t think he was trying to say they were the same, just that he maybe has some better knowledge of what being a goalie is like compared to people who haven’t played it in any sport

We don’t call it courts in the U.S. here either. I think a pretty normal term would be soccer field, but I don’t know much about sports so there might be a more official, more accurate term. I think this was either a slip of the tongue or him just trolling. He’d gotten annoyed at chatters trying to “correct” him on calling it soccer when that’s just the appropriate regional term for us, and as an American streamer with the largest portion of his viewers being American, it makes more sense for him to call it soccer so that viewers don’t get confused if he’s talking about American football or universal football

The mechanics are completely different for goalies of different sports like soccer's goal post is approx 8-10 times bigger than hockey's goal post
No disrespect but even a pro hockey goalie who is under 6 feet will get bullied in a soccer game even with decent strikers

As someone that play 15 years as a goalkeeper I can tell you that the goal at 10:30 will not be block 60% of the times in professional games. Most goalkeeper would think that the ball will go outside. But I do agree with you the goalies are trash in this game

The 5th goal goes in agianst a lot of semi-pro goalies and even some pros. GK is the hardest position in football and the guy with the cap has played like 3 games in goal before this (another charity tournament). Give the guy a rest. He’s a legend of the UK space

Sidemens goalie pie face, I believe lost 120 pounds, I could be completely wrong, but he’s also really tall like 6’4 or 6’5 I think, so he’s not the fastest guy, and cal the dragon, the goalie of utas… just not very good. Their strat was bad goalies + good-ish players = lots of goals = entertainment
The highlights don’t do a good enough job of showing people how good the match was start to finish the full 90 minutes was amazing

It’s genuinely really difficult to be a goalie. There were some terrible shots let in but for the most part, most of the people saying “I’d be a better goalie” would probably be just as bad. Like Filly’s goal Blau was saying most would save, is difficult af to save. that was top corner but still right near the goalie is impossible for non professional goalies to stop. He hit it really hard and from the goalies perspective, he’s only seeing his own defenders and there’s no direct line of sight to the ball or to Filly and he only sees that a shot has been taken once the ball is 1/3 of the way to him and there’s nowhere near enough time to react at that point. If you aren’t at least a semi-pro, you will have had no chance stopping that.

Yes, but we already have another sport called football in the US, and so as an American it makes sense for him to use the clearer term so he wouldn’t confuse the large number of American viewers in his chat. There’s no “correct” term, it’s just an issue of the preferred terms for things across regions. Same way that people in the UK say candy floss while people in Australia call it fairy floss. It’s just an issue of people having different regional dialects
