Well, crazy story. I’m really sorry to hear about that. I decided to go SS on my main electric guitar a couple of years ago and I was extremely nervous going into it. Thankfully, I went for a very reputable luthier in my city who had done a couple of repair jobs on other guitars of mine. I am really picky when it comes to guitar repair, but he had done a great job with the work done on my other instruments. I called him up and we talked for a while. He said he had actually refretted a couple of his own guitars in SS, so that made me feel better. Long story short it all worked out. I think I will have to get the fret ends filed a tiny bit this year because of our cold Canadian winters that make necks shrink just a little, regardless of how well you try to humidify. That’s nothing unusual though. Honestly after all is said and done I couldn’t be happier. I actually did a nickel/SS before and after video on my channel for anyone who may be interested. Tonally speaking there isn’t much of a difference except for the guitar playing more in tune now with Fretz that are not worn out. In terms of the playing experience, I am extremely pleased. If you get work like this done by someone who really knows what they’re doing the results are long lasting

    Opening jam is a ripper.
I finally played a guitar with SS, the used Suhr t style hanging up at K & S, wow. Its amazing.
But i think id rather buy something built with them than try to get something refretted
