You've got my attention in the first 20 seconds. Excellent....Now that I finished the video. I love the subjects at hand. Connect deeply with the softening of my intense criticism of others music with age. Appreciate the link between dismantling supremacy and letting go of strong opinions. Great content.... kinda wish it was 20 minutes longer
Keep on teaching- thanks for that contribution - and that how much a dollar costs instrumental - priceless . I really dig this deepness that is much needed nowadays. ❤️
I think that socio-economic hardship is a huge issue in finding the "pockets of silence" Rothko refers to at the end. If you are working 8 hours a day, paying bills, raising kids and all the things we are expected to do just to be "a person", how do we find those "pockets of silence" or even afford the tools to create? The whole system is setup to make it hard to create the art and very easy for others to exploit it. I hope to explore ideas on this channel that go beyond "techno tutorials" and make us understand WHY we want to create the things we make and then the HOW becomes an afterthought. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
@@GUNJACKOFFICIAL ironically a lot of the art I find most interesting is borne out of socio-economic / political hardship. maybe those pockets of silence find you when there are important things to be said?
I dont like Rothko's work but love the quote at the end. The arrogant snobbery of youth i think energises us initially, but totally agree eventually its amazing to open your heart and mind to accept all creativity has value and can be interesting in some way. Context is everything. I do laugh when people say early techno and rave is easy to make. The configuration of sounds in those simple records is magical sometimes and unmatched to this day. They are raw subconscious intuative talent on show.
IF YOU KNOW THE SONG IN THE BACKGROUND AND UNDERSTAND WHY I USED IT YOU ARE MY PEOPLE
Never get the art by Rothko but I’m liking this format. Pls keep videos like this coming!

Wow! Great essay.
Best yet, I feel a Rob Hood special is required.

Well played.
This was dope
Enjoyed immensely. I wonder what you will think of these thoughts when you are your 50s? As stated, enjoyed immensely. ✌️
And there I was thinking it would be an introspective on UR/Detroit minimal (Hood) vs Dub (Radio Rothko, Basic Channel...)... LOL
A bit deeper than that on this one haha
