This the angler game feels completely like it could be in just 1 map of call of the wild itsself.
Having a reel with a lower max drag then your line strength will allow you to have much high drag. The line can be as strong as the rod so just put the max line you can with a weaker reel allow for higher drag

im not gunna buy it, but i hope they listen to the players that do and make a truly good fishing game that we expect from EW, think it needs a good 5+ months to bake in the oven
I dont think its terrible, i think its just too early for them to be releasing it when we have games like RF4 and FP with 10 times the content and better fishing philosophy.

Unfortunately after watching your videos, game looks worse and worse, pulling in fish in under 30 seconds just makes the game pointless. Earlier videos made it look like they actually fight but I guess once you have top end tackle it's just set the drag and hold down reel.
Depends on the set up man. I've had several 5+ minute fights
I haven’t seen anyone try to catch lake trout are they hard to catch
take the mission and its easy, first cast diamond cat, same with all the missions. Lot of us are already only interested in legendary fish now.

Really should have a better trophy system with the game. I imagine a customizable cabin that you can mount fish on the walls. Or a room you can just hang trophies. Maybe a better trophy system between friends. Game has potential. I wish the baits were more realistic. I look forward to playing the game regardless of these complaints. They might make it better.
I want to get this game but cant make the decision on which platform. I have COTW on both xbox an pc since i game with friends on xbox more but its costly to have 2 copies of the game since i cant game share it through xbox on my pc. As of now i have all dlcs for COTW on both platforms just wish it and this were crossplay.

This video is from the first couple weeks of release. The devs removed all diamond missions a few updates ago

He makes you think they are hard to catch I have caught 20 catfish 3 of those were diamonds
It seams the trout are the easiest and the catfish are the hardest.

@@Hypnos828 literally can't even compare the two. Two completely different styles of games. Also how can you compare a 5 year old game with millions of updates and tons of content added versus a game that just released. How about compare COTW when it first released vs WOTH now.

I wonder how long it take them to add a trophy lodge to this game I still don't know why they didn't think of replica fish mounts I'm also curious on how many people pointed this out to the devs that you could still have a mounted fish without killing it by making a replica of it
They could just add an aquarium so they don’t have to worry about it.

I know they’re trying to be so humane with their catch and release which is fine but we need a trophy lodge otherwise I won’t be playing that game
@@kaptainkechup91 yeah I know they want to focus on catch and release fishing but I thought it was weird that they thought the only to display a fish on your wall is the same as a deer you have to kill and skin it
This doesn't look like it's worth 30 bucks at all. There's like no gear. I am really surprised there's no tournaments or anything. For a game that is all about fishing the fish animations are way to simple for my taste. The fish fights look good but if the fish is running why is the animation of it facing you.... I understand it's just a game and all but there are other fishing games out that are less money or free that have more gear. Have a more in depth skill system instead of just leveling up a rod for or lure for XP. This game seems more marketed toward people who are beginner anglers. I was so excited for this game to release and now that I'm seeing these videos I'm having second thoughts. dont get me started on the limited amount of species and the generic fish models that seem to have no life in them. I'm really disappointed in them because COTW The Hunter was great. Especially with the rack system. there is nothing unique about this game. I wouldnt say it was rushed but there wasn't much thought put into the development like there was in The Hunter.....
Just my thoughts on it. But good video it is a fun game to watch just wouldn't play it with better fishing games out there.

Spite all the bugs, I love the game so far. It's simple and easy to jump in and play. No time-consuming setup or difficult controls.

I Love the COTW Games. I have full confidence they will continue to update and make the game better and honestly I’ve already been having a blast on the angler!
fish way to slow - slow moving, slow bite -not the fisher online ) but looks fun
yea exactly. for people saying "oh its a open world" havent seen the fisher online.
I wish the fish were more picky on choosing the bait or lure they went after.
Nice catch but I'm not sure catfish is the hardest diamond, mine fell to a size 4 frog on the third cast. I found the diamond sauger much harder.

Kinda weird because catfish bass perch all of those warm water fish don’t actually in irl live where the map is located. My dad has fished waters in Teton and so have I, and my dad or I have never caught bass pike or catfish . The Species list is a joke and they should have picked an area like Florida Texas or California if they stick to fresh water this game will never be good. Also why can I not hold the bass like I would in irl. They look so goofy

Hey scarecrow, I just thought I would let you know that you don’t need a 1/0 hook to catch a channel catfish all you need is a size 4 hook or size 5 that is the size hooks. I’ve caught my diamonds on.
I know this is a year old but still wanted to say I got my diamond after 5 days after console drop with tree diamonds so far whitefish .. catfish .. and a nice rainbow
I think the problem is the catfish are bottom feeders 99.99 percent of the time we need bottom feeders rods setups

do you ever do any real fishing? Trout will eat real dough & power bait is pretty close to doughy substance died & glitter but some people use bizkit dough basically looking for something that floats off the bottom. a sinker weight w/1 1/2 - 2ft liter line w/treble hook & bait snag em all day
My entire childhood and first few years of adulthood was fishing in my free time. But primarily for chinook & cutthroats.

I had high hope for a new fishing game, but nothing this game offers makes me want to stop playing other fishing games I already play. "Open world" means nothing in a fishing game. You can only fish one spot at any given time and it's not like you're hunting and have to chase a herd of animals across an entire map. I don't see the difference between fast traveling across an open world and clicking a button and changing maps like other games have that aren't open world. The only thing "open world" does is keep people with lesser computer setups from being able to play it.
It has gotten better now that it has released on console
