My all-time favorite edc backpack is the Maxpedition Prepared Citizen 2.0. Why, because it's specifically designed to mimic a classic Jansport backpack that everyone had or has seen. The Perpared Citizen 2.0 has a front velcro attachment panel, which I put on a custom-made Jansport moral patch that I made using a real Jansport patch from one of their backpacks that I sowed/glued onto a thin piece of velcro. So, since the Maxpedition Prepared Citizen 2.0 mimics a Jansport backpack and now has a real Jansport patch/logo on it, I can carry my gear comfortably while blending into a crowd without standing out by looking tactical👍 I also put inside it a Maxpedition Entity velcro attached organizer to help carry and organize extra gear. The Maxpedition Prepared Citizen 2.0 bag also only costs $59.00👍
I got a dark brown Falcon II a few months ago. It is from 2014-2016, when they had the Dark Brown color for many products. Durable design, but I wish it had some small quality of life improvements, some pockets or velcro in every compartment at the top. Just copy the velcro from the Falcon 3 and it would be a huge step up. I might end up sewing hook and loop into the smaller main compartment... Also the bottom front pouch would be great with organizing features on both sides, back and front panel.
I’m a big fan of maxpedition but didn’t own the Falcon; I recently bought it as the side compression straps were pivotal/critical for me use case a week e as the narrow design: attaching to a rear bike seat while riding AND easy removal for end-use! Perfect! Also, I like the abundant attachment points.
Very nice offering from a quality company, but for me, it is too "tactical" for edc. That does not mean it is bad, but other more "gray" man, simpler versions are now available. If you spend a lot of time outdoors that bag offers many quality options for use.
I have often wondered why the Falcon was the backpack that was cloned/copied so massively. I got the falcon 2 those 11-12 years ago but it never really satisfied me. The depth just makes it look ridiculous. I didn't touch a maxpedition bag again until they released the "prepared citizen deluxe".
