I always like to be frank with my clients especially in the beginning looking for models to build my portfolio I seek the skin and clients I want. So its not really client seeking me but the other way around. I have declined clients by saying I don't think I will be able to give you the result you want. I hope this helps?

Hey Hun I did listings on craigslist for free in the beginning. after about 10 strangers I did my close fiends and family. by then I understand my skill level and how the tattoo heals
I would join facebook groups and ask for models there. do about 5-10 models there then take on your family and friends. My students got many models from just craiglsit and facebook groups.

I first started out renting a space from a nail salon and my students rent out stations in my studio for their clients.Try finding people through Craigslist or social media and tattoo them for free. After sometime you can start adding prices to your work. Apprenticeships are possible but this depends if the people in your area are willing to offer it.
Yes typically apprenticeships you need to pay for. Or just keep taking courses until you feel comfortable taking on models without a trainer there. I would suggest to take 2-3 classes.
