The best thing to have happened to Hard Rock since the 70's. The maids are keeping the torch burning, carrying the flag and making all the best music of the 21st century. If you wanna see Kanami play a very EVH riff, try the live version of another instrumental, ONSET. Eddie would have clapped!
Miku, the rhythm guitar player actually founded the band, branded them with her vision of their appearance, writes almost all the lyrics for the songs and is basically the main spokesperson for the band. She gave up the main singing role for the band because she felt her voice wasn't strong enough for the type of music the band was playing and helped recruit Saiki (lead vocals) and relegated herself to mainly back up vocals although she does have some songs she does the singing on. She also learned how to play guitar after the band was performing because she didn't want to bring another player into the group and Saiki evidently didn't want to learn how. Kanami, lead guitar, taught her how to play and now Miku is an excellent rhythm player. Miku has done everything for the group. People who don't know much about her overlook her but without her as the driving force Band Maid would not be where it is today. I have nothing but the utmost respect for her.

It was a big surprise joy for fans.

Kanami (lead) has mentioned 2 guitarists as her favourites - Carlos Santana and Eddie Van Halen with Larry Carlton as her early inspiration. Kanami uses tapping quite often and it was of course EVH's Eruption that inspired her to learn that technique, she was so dedicated she practised 'til her fingers bled
As with all Band Maid songs, you have to see them live to get the real experience
They're not girls. All the members are elegant ladies, each of them aged 30 or above. ✨🥰🤘

Saiki the lead singer has had throat surgery in the past so the band are very careful with her voice. They play 2+ hour sets so to give Saiki a break around mid-set they do three things. 1. Play an instrumental, 2. Miku (rhythm guitar) takes lead vocals for a song or two (she usually has one track per album where she is lead vocalist) and 3. Miku will do her legendary and hilarious "Magic Time" MC set. Then Saiki comes back on to finish the set. Even though Saiki no longer needs a break nowadays, it's become more of a tradition. So yeah, they have a number of really cool instrumental tracks. Check out the live MV of "Onset" for another instrumental banger!
The other guitarist Miku in the pigtails also does backing vocals in addition to her rhythem guitar duties. She's also the band founder who gave up her lead vocalist role to Saiki to get a more hard rock voice. You wouldn't know it, but Miku never knew how to play guitar when she formed BandMaid. Konami ( the lead guitarist and composer) taught her how to play guitar.....simply amazing and she can hold her own with these jedi level musicians....:)

If you liked "From Now On", you'll probably like "Onset", the official live video. It's another instrumental by Band-Maid. You mentioned Eddie Van Halen. On "Onset", Kanami, the lead guitarist, does some great finger tapping like Eddie. Amazing group!!!!!

Thanks for the reaction and comments. Arguably the best rhythm section in rock today and easily in the top 10 of all times. These ladies are pure energy and joy. No baggages and egos that have derailed so many bands in the past. Simply put, they all serve the song to enhance the experience for their fans. Cheers!

Your thoughts about Kanami, the lead guitarist, and Eddie Van Halen are very pertinent. Not only does she love using the tapping technique but she also paid tribute to Eddie when he passed away in a very kind message. Although she cited Larry Carlton and Carlos Santana as the guitarists who inspired her the most, she also recognized Eddie Van Halen as one of her favorite guitarists. She is a bit like his daughter in a way. THANKS.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live four times with this MV quality in Japan and dropped my jaw four times 😲. I believe so did many of American audience in their recent three US tours. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
Yeah, Kanami plays guitar with abandon but with a melodic purpose. Unlike many guitar players who haven't yet figured out what melody is. They think faster is better. But if it doesn't sound good to me then I won't be listening to that song more than once. Now check out their other Awesome instrumental ONSET-LIVE. Peace. 7.48

The thing about the guitar player (Mincho) is she also composes all the music. And she is quite prolific with over 130 songs in the last 10 years. Mincho is one of the greatest rock music composers on the planet.
