Thank you for making this video! I knew there was something I didn't understand about getting the best stability from tying my figure skates. I am going to try your tips.
I'm so confused about how to tie my skate! I couldn't figure out my backwards edges....then a coach said my skates were too loose. So I tightened them up around the hooks and all of a sudden my backwards edges became easy! But then my OTHER coach was like "wow can you even bend your knees" and she was right...bending my knees was tough. Argh! I feel like I can't win and I have blisters on my hands lol!
When you're trying to figure out how totie your skates right that's always the trouble. What is the balance between too tight and to loose? I will say, if you have tied your skates loose a lot you might have not broken in your skates all the way, which in turn will make it difficult to bend your ankles. With knee bend we also need to bend those ankles. Try to tie them tight but not as tight as you did before. As you tighten the hooks, don't tie your skates so tight where its squeezing your ankles to where it's uncomfortable. It should be like a glove, tight but there should be some give!
Tried one video and it was good, but this one is a bit better than the last one so I am kind of putting them to both techniques. But it was the same thing ... the skipping the bottom or top part is great for me love the video
I have Graf 500's and the laces you get with them are mega long! I go up and then down with them - tying at the bottom of the tounge where the ankle bend is - rather than at the top of the tounge like you show. Even then I still have a good bit of lace left over. Is this right/ok? I can't think of another way to do them as they are so long...and anyway why are they so long?
Sometimes those laces can be so long! What I would usually do in that situation is tie your skates normally and then cut the access lace off and knot the ends. Another thing you could do is measure to see how long your laces are and get a shorter pair
Thanks!

WOWWWWWW INTERESTING AND IMPORTANT!!!! Thanks so much
I am thinking about buying boot covers. It would be cool if you can make a video explaining the purpose/different advantages of boot covers.
Love this idea! Are you buying boot covers to protect your boots primarily?
