This was the best version so far and I don't see it getting much better than this. His only flaws were the same over and over when he draws out final notes a little too long...his classical training will not let him articulate them short and cut like Shaw did. Other than that he was excellent.. As one can tell by the cheering, he totally nailed the iconic smear near the very end...smooth and very clear. Bravo!
Wow this sounds awesome, one of the best I´ve heard on You Tube, very cool ! Great clarinet player respect! That girlie doing the trumpet solo is also really cool, what a band !!!!
Outstanding work by all, and congratulations to Mr. Gutierrez for playing that licorice stick so beautifully. The clarinet is one of my very favorite instruments--so close to approximating the human voice and playing such as this is becoming a very rare thing indeed (and this comes very close to Shaw's level--not bad for a young musician, not bad at all!) Thanks for sharing this!
Why? Because he is technically proficient? Because in this kind of music, that's all that he is. No swing, no soul, no jazz feeling. Longhairs should stay off this kind of music.
Place your fingers in the position of D in the fourth line and loosen them a little. So you can control the gliss from that note to the notes over tones. If you want to write me to my email: hernandariogutierrez@hotmail.com
Fantastic arrangement !!! May I have a question about how to get this big band version ? I would like to let my big band to play this next concert ~~~~ Many Thanks for your help ~~~
Joseph Rojas I thought RC prestige wouldn't sound like in the video, but true. Each players sound different even with same instrument so I guess that could be right too.
While he has a technically better clarinet tone than Shaw it lacks Shaw's excitement and expression. The tone of jazz clarinet and klezmer is a beginner tone of clarinet, yet people love it for what it can express.
Hernán, FANTÁSTICA tu versión. Mis más emocionadas felicitaciones para ti y la orquesta. Álvaro Rojas Gómez.

You are truly an incredible musician!
Très bonne prestation du clarinettiste et de l'orchestre ! Bravo !
Me encanta !!!
The great Artie Shaw would have been proud of this clarinet player.

@@basilpeewit3350 Too harsh! He did better than all the rest of the classical players I have heard.
@@pipersnakis Too harsh? That he does better than other classical players is no argument. Longhairs should NOT play this kind of music.
Nancho....Que Poder!!!!!! Excelente!!
Great performance. Reminds me of my favorite clarinet-orchestra OK-Dreamband. CD "Clarinet-Dreams" is available for download (iTunes, amazon).
He is the only one that can make the "lip slurp" on 1:34 as Shaw wroted!!! Amazing
Thankyou .....!!
Bravo Maestro!!! qué orgullo .... :D

Any advice for the gliss up from G to G?

Hi, If you want to write me to my email: hernandariogutierrez@hotmail.com
Is that an R13 Prestige?
I'm guessing either R13 Prestige or Festival
Or Rc Prestige
Joseph Rojas I thought RC prestige wouldn't sound like in the video, but true. Each players sound different even with same instrument so I guess that could be right too.
He told me he is playing an RC Prestige
LEE MUY BIEN LA PARTITURA...
m.th-cam.com/video/yINoXqxL77U/w-d-xo.html después de escuchar este clarinetista me parece muy lineal
