    Great analysis. However, in your re-adjusted ranking, it's hard to rank KD at #3, because, while incredibly gifted offensively, he is neither an elite-level, nor a very good defender. Passable at best. 6th is appropriate. Given what James means to the Lakers, #5 might be too low. I'd swap James and Kawhi. Gotta see how Leonard does this upcoming season. And, I'd put Steph at #1, then then, the Joker. Jokic'd be #1, if the Nuggets had won a title in the last 4 years. Curry proved in 2021 how valuable he is to the Warriors. He makes them, generally, playoff-elite consistently.

      I’m a bit higher on KD because he’s the best and most efficient scorer out of everyone while still being a passable defender who can still be very effective on the help side. I think the discourse around him would be a lot more favorable if they got past the Bucks. However, I can see him as low as 5 because he doesn’t bring the 2-way impact of Kawhi or Giannis or the playmaking of curry and Jokic. I think Lebron meaning so much to the lakers has more to do with the roster being so garbage than him actually impacting games on a higher level then the guys ahead of him, although I get putting him ahead of Kawhi given he’s missed so much time. This is the season I believe jokic will firmly put himself in top 3 talks given how much more solid the roster is around him. I can’t in good faith rank him so high with his lack of playoff success among guys who have all been the best players on a championship team, while still playing at that same level or even above those levels last season. I’m curious on where you have Giannis as well.

    I have a high standard for the term superstar.
    To be a superstar, in my opinion, you need to do all of these things in the same season;
    1. Make an All-NBA 1st team/1st-Defense team.
    2. Get selected to the All Star team.
    3. Win a championship and the MVP/DPoY/or Finals MVP
    If you did not do those things all in the same season… then you are not a superstar.
    As of now, the only active superstars are LeBron, Curry, Durant, Giannis, and Kawhi.
    Nobody else is on their level.
    If you can accomplish at least 2 of the 3, then you’re the next tier of star player.

    • @dlee4three11
      @dlee4three11  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting…I think championships are so dependent on the supporting cast that it’s hard to evaluate players by that, but that’s a solid way to categorize players. To be considered the best of the best you gotta win it all as the #1 option at the end of the day

    If I was the Lakers and I could get Jimmy Butler for KD, I’d do that in a heartbeat. He’s a culture driver and I think he’d do great with LBJ.

    • @dlee4three11
      @dlee4three11  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Skills wise though, KD fits much better alongside Lebron. He’s a much better off the catch shooter. I do love Jimmy’s mentality although I’m not sure if he would like having to defer to beon

    Can’t say luka without mentioning Trae young. Poor defense but superstar offense

    • @dlee4three11
      @dlee4three11  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Trae is my guy man it was hard for me to not include him. Luka was actually pretty good on defense in the 2nd half of the regular season. Him being so much bigger than Trae makes him less of a defensive liability, but he still gets targeted like he did in the warriors series. While I think Trae is a better playmaker and shooter, Luka is a better offensive player and has been so consistently great in the playoffs that he has to be here imo. Trae is right outside this tier to me, I need another year of him playing like he did last year, and a playoff bounce back and he’s up there easily.

    I do personally have Jokic at #1. I just think if you swapped him with Giannis, he would have a ring. When he team was healthy, he made it to the WCF, but lost to the eventual winners, the Lakers. This season he lost to gsw, the best team in the league. I do however at Giannis at a close 2nd. I just don't think Giannis would be able to carry the Nuggets like Jokic does.

    • @dlee4three11
      @dlee4three11  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah Giannis doesn’t have the same passing skills that would allow an offense to be ran through him the same way jokic. I do still think if you swapped them ID be confident Giannis would take that team to the playoffs. Both teams would be so fundamentally different though it’s hard to see how both of them would fare in the playoffs.

    • @John_R_Jackson_III
      @John_R_Jackson_III 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No the hell he would not. Giannis generational genetics and raw athleticism helped towards that championship something Jokic does not and will never have. Sure his basketball iq is one of the highest but that gets you but so far clearly. So much cope.
