I am currently laying a brick in my toliet while watching this
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sammmeeeeeeeeee
Literally me rn
Bruv!
Am dropping kids off
😂😂
I built mine a few years back after watching this, made mine bigger by adding a table section to the left, and built it higher overall, never laid a brick before, surprised myself, what I also did was mix the mortar a bit stronger than here, mine still standing like new, used often
What I did learn was respect for bricklayers, this is not as easy it looks but go for it
Great to hear this may friends I;m glad you went for ti and its still performing well, enjoy
How did u add the table?
Love this, no fast forwarding and he explains every step so that I can understand. He`s a pro so mine is gonna take forever but this gave me a lot of confidence to actually do it ❤️👍
He may be a pro but he is most certainly a boot.
I am a lady, do not have experience with laying bricks, but want my own outdoor kitchen, you just gave me a confidence and knowledge to do it, will use your video as a guide, thank you🙏
Thats great news, I hope its been helpful, please post us your project photos on our social patrons we'd love to see them
I hope your project worked out well.
your bricklaying and workmanship is amazing!
Thanks
Great to watch such a skilled crafts man.....these skills are under rated. My father built our house like this brick by brick in 1964, makes me realise what a talent he had !
mix was too dry,
Wow!
When I seen Craig I thought to myself: "This will be easy"
15 mins later I'm thinking: "How much would a builder charge?"
No stick at it and #DIY
A builder would not be interested in such a small job. Just have a go yourself, it is only experience that is needed.
@300-300 and now you have 15 brick BBQs dotted around your garden ;-)
The WINNER of the very first big brother if i remember correctly! Love that he's still doing what he loves and is a normal lad compared to the personalities in reality television and popular culture these days!
I love how brickies make it look so easy. Bricklaying is so difficult to do well. That mix would have gone off by the time I lay the 3rd brick 😂
it's 4:44am I haven't slept yet, and I have never laid a brick in my life....
Benjamin Exton
lol same here...
Benjamin Exton 2:14 am in Texas USA same
Benjamin Exton lmao!!!! so me right mow! but its 3:58 am !
2:15 am on a Monday. Still haven't slept and I have no idea why I'm watching this.
I would love to see your neighbors reaction when they see you building a brick barbecue at 4AM
Extremely helpful
Glad we could help
His accent is awesome!
CHEERS
Great job and this guy can handle the trowel like a champ...he knows what he is doing, good job
Many thanks
Great job. made it look easy. you were taught by the best Masons that take Pride in their work. old School pro.
Watched this video throughly 3-4 times .. have now done this for 4 people n they’ve been over the moon thanks ladddd
Good job
it's a nice model
finally someone talks!
thanks for taking time to explain how to build one.
Your very welcome
How many bricks in total sir?
Professional brick layer in every sense!
Thank you
Thumbs up for explaining in plain English.
Thanks Bud!
awsome thanks helps me lots
I like how Craig takes pride in his work.
Thank you,
This is so satisfying to watch you working.
March 2020, lock-down due coronavirus, I`m planning to build my own brick bbq and just realized that 1.5K builders hating you because of the very well explained video about how to do by yourself. Congratulations.
Sorry!
Cheers, many thanks
Brilliant thanks!
Your welcome
Rather good timing - just been laying out and marking up my bricks for a bbq. Start brickwork tomorrow :D
This is so satisfying to watch 👍, keep looking at the awesome stone wall in the back
You teach the best kind of bricking with generousty
The most easy to follow DIY tutorial I had watched! I’m going to have a go with mine for this coming summer bbq! Thank you!
Awesome! let us know how you get on
I own a construction firm and i can tell you... this guys skill is on a level 9999..
Really? Won’t the dry brick suck the moisture right out of the mortar and weaken the bond? Other than that he’s spot on.
He’d be fired by break. Union guys here need to lay 400 brick a day a minimum.
William Quilitzsch they’re engineering bricks so they don’t suck up any moisture
Then it does not take much to impress you, and you are like the last construction firm I hired and fired. Nothing about how he is doing the brickwork is correct.
His brickwork is slow and backwards
Watched this vid when it first came out. I had a go and I’ve just finally finished it 👍🏼
Amazing we would love to see it - check out our DIY forum on Facebook
It took you 2 years?
@@Blackthorn if it came out 5 years ago and the man finished 11 months ago it took him 4y to get it together enough to build one (on land I assume and bricks to acquire and design in mind takes time) don't hate on or talk down to bigjl15 or you'll get some and know you don't want it
GREAT!! Thank you
Your welcome
Perfect brick work
Ain't it funny how people can't learn something new these days without getting all defensive about what they've learned previously and finding fault.
Idk what that has to do w the vid but i feel you
Love your comments
No! Not funny at all!
WOW !! Fabulous work !! Love how you lay the bricks so neatly and the cement work !! What a professional mason you are !
Just a standard bricklayer thanks
This guy is a real PRO!
Thanks for the DIY lessons Craig. I will be trying out my brick barbecue tomorrow..
Craig, thank you for some good instructions. I have never done anything with brick work before. I am going to use your tips in building a brick border for my flower beds. I have been liking some of my neighbors landscape borders a lot. Thanks for the video.
Brillant, good luck
@@MrDIYCraigPhillips l
idk why but this was very satisfying to watch
Thanks
Lol funny you say that. People at work tell me the same thing when I'm laying block/brick.
ijust like how he throw s the cement on the brick make it look so easy lol
It gets easier each time you do it,
A very great looking design. Congratz.

The only thing of higher quality than the BBQ that you made here, is the quality of the video, and the quality of the teaching.
you've earned a Sub and likes, congrats!
Cheers my friend
Great Job, congratulations...

These bad comments are from clueless people, your project is perfect and looks awesome! Great job keep Rocking dude!!!y You're an ACE in masonry /art!
Barbecue eq-vip.com.ua/teplovoe-oborudovanie/shashlychnicy
No he is not a pro he needs to learn how to spread his mudd and furrow it with his trowel! you dont use two hands what a boot, Richard Warren i am not clueless ! Been laying brick for 47 years and you dont have to stop and wait for that mudd to set before going up with more courses that mudd startes seting as soon as you spread that mudd. He would make a beter Barber as much as he try's to shave that brick with his trowel.
He is an A1 Mason ,so neat.
Thanks Richard
Glad you like our videos
I really enjoy watching the skill, speed and precision of master craftsman. Well done
Thank you
Very nice work and instructions thanks
You make it look easy
I have to say Craig, you make it look so easy, LOL. just finished my outdoor patio getting ready for summer in Houston USA, you couldn't explain it any better. thank you for the video, hopefully i can make it happen. thanks again!
bandido79 ik
Cheers, I;m glad i can help, I hope you had the success in USA
@@MrDIYCraigPhillips does the pile of cement not dry out?
@@andrewparry1665 It will if you leave it to long of course, only mix as much as you need, if it's your first time only mix a small amount to avoid waste
@@andrewparry1665use plasticiser or lime in your mix too, it makes the mortar workable and easier to use. Don’t know why he didn’t state that in the video. Very important, especially for someone who has never done it before.
Really great. That is what I am going to do in my garden the summer .thanks to you
Your welcome
Ya home depot precision skilled ass! Awesome video!!!

A good two hours
im half way on this project and your technique is flawless, no mess at all, you say try to keep the brick clean, I look at mine (WTF!!!!), lol, I am not giving up yet , im going to finish this no matter what!!!!!! great video
Finally a scoucer youtuber
Cheers
This video was very informative, now I want a Brick Bbq!
Thank you.
I like this design. The open space is a good space for fuel like wood or charcoal.
Hello Mr. Craig Phillips, Credit goes to you for helping me build my first outdoor BBQ grill. it looks a little rusty, but for a starter it looks great. If I had a way of adding a picture of my finish in here I would be happy to. I guarantee you the next time I do it I will have a much cleaner finish. But now I have an outdoor BBQ grill for life. Thanks again for your expertise.
HI Tony, Thanks for your comments, i'm glad we could help you, post your photos of your work on our social media handles and we can see them then. www.craigphillips.co.uk
This was very helpful thanks good job very neat too
Love to watch a true craftsman work although I know I'll never do any project like this.
Can't Stand Idiots never say never dude.
Thank you
Craig, this is bloody marvelous! Two things worry me: Breaking the bricks - you make that looks so easy ;I would need to order two dozen extras to make sure I got some I could use. And the other problem is the music. Far better to just hear your brilliant guidance. Thank you for this first-class lesson. I am envious of your fitness too!!
Thanks very much for your lovely and kind comments
You are the man... great this is what I wanted for my back yard for years... thank you..!
Thank you for this video I hope to have my brick grill in my yard this fall
I like how he says he's buttering the bricks. lol. I will be using this vid for sure when I build my bbq.
its a trade term used by plasterer's etc
Amazing! I loved watching that. Skilled labour at work.
Thank you Clangorous
SIMPLE IS GREAT, GREAT VIDEO
Excellent demo. Thanks a lot.
Thats it. I'm very inspired now. Tomorrow I'm calling my mate to come and do it.
