I was born in 42. As a child I laid on the floor in my parents bedroom listening to the old radio shows. Evenings. Sat morning and Sunday afternoon and evening. Glad I found these radio shows. Makes me happy at 81 years old.
Nancy, I agree with you! I remember going to sleep at night to the "Whistler" program and hearing Arthur Godfrey's daytime program during the summer afternoons. We didn't have T.V. when that became popular so radio programs were often our only entertainment.😻
Agreed! I’ve been listening to these old shows for about 8 years. I started listening to Gunsmoke, which has about 470 episodes, and I’ve gone through them 3 times! Others I like are Our Miss Brooks, Jack Benny, Duffy’s Tavern, Life With Luigi, Dragnet, Johnny Dollar and many more! Beats all of the garbage of today!👍
I'm 55 and at our beach cottage in the summer we had no TV. My folks would turn on the old fashioned radio and we'd listen to radio mysteries some nights after the evning news. Many times we had a fire going in the fireplace and mom would be sewing. Comforting memories. 🙂 Glad these shows are available, they have a new audience!

@@aneveningofoldtimeradio keep it coming. I had my kids and husband listening last night before bed. And my kids were laughing to the old radio program.
You said it! I’m 62, and I prefer the programs from the 30s to the 60s, but especially the 40s! I think it has something to do with WWII and everything going on at the time.(Everything except the tremendous loss of life!)
Been listening to old time-y inspired lofi, cbs radio shows from the 60s(kinda similar to The twilight zone) and this. Not gonna lie I'm starting to get tired of their accents.
Could you make the volume louder? I have my volume up as far as it can go on my phone. I can't understand anything that is being said. I appreciate you posting. Maybe if I use my headphones I can hear. Thank you. Blessings.
Hello, if you like these shows maybe you will enjoy newer versions of them created by our team. The sound is much louder. th-cam.com/video/DRSiCvuj5Eo/w-d-xo.html
First time I heard Fred Allen. He was a baby sitter government propagandist also. A entire show on a "housing crisis" (in the 40's), will always point to government assistance, and not free market opportunity. So guess where those policies come from,---comrade.

My dad got me into this stuff. Nothing like it today. Glad there's so much on the toobs 😊👍
This is before my time And I love the clean comedy and ads. This chases away today's blues.

Yes, you see it. The destruction of good values. It is called 'progress" in our schools.
True story.
"Moving Forward", does not define direction.
I greatly enjoy old time radio. Old time radio programs have T.V. programing beat hands down, thank you.
Leonard, you may like these voice artists who do their own Old Time Radio style stories. th-cam.com/video/YV40cA8PBCU/w-d-xo.html
