Strawberry is canonically a “dry” town so yeah, no saloon. McFarland’s Ranch surprised me as well, considering the timeframe of the original game you’d have thought more would be going on there.
While it was never close to anything convenient, I loved setting up camp in Ambarino. Especially when it put the camp next to the Wapiti Indian Reservation
I really like your authentic style it keeps me coming back keep it up, I think you should do a video ranking horses (maybe one by stats and one by appearance) that would be great
love this ranking video as you speak and articulate things well. please do more rankings. also my favourite location is big valley/west elizabeth. beautiful
I would say MacFarlane's Ranch is the greenest place of New Austin, so good weather overall, not too dry? (things are different when you can quickly get around the map with a stable of arabians-weather is important, what john wears, etc) Also close to John's Farm / Ranch at Beecher's Hope. You can hunt a few skins around Armadillo for the Trapper? Blackwater - You can go boating here, if you find a decent boat. Sometimes horses swim near Blackwater Jetty.
I don’t understand why Strawberry doesn’t have a saloon. Micah literally gets drunk at it’s “saloon” & kills someone, hence why he ends up in jail & when John & Jack go down to Strawberry from Pronghorn in the epilogue, Jack says “you don’t wanna go to the saloon?” Clearly implying that there was meant to be a saloon there. I heard that Strawberry also wasn’t finished being made because the games release was sort of rushed so I think it was originally gonna have a saloon & I wish it did,
Me too tbh, it’s definitely strange how there’s constant mentions of a saloon there but we never got one. If it had a gunsmith and a saloon it would be the best town in my opinion 🙌
I wish that MacFarlane's Ranch was the same as in Red Dead Redemption 1 where it had a general store, Doctor, jail with bounty hunting and poker game😊
Would’ve been awesome 🙌
