My most used ones are "Fancy Zones" and "Color Picker". Your video made me realize there's so much more to powertoys like that "Always Keep On Top", thanks! Will have to check what PowerToys have to offer now.
I discovered Power Toys years ago, when they were just a loose collection of independent utilities. I used Mouse Without Borders because I quite often had both a desktop and a laptop running at the same time, and using a KVM switch got to be a pain. After they bundled all of them into one application, I started discovering the other utilities.
I had thought that the "Workspaces" power toy was just the same as the multiple desktop feature of Windows, so I ignored it. But this does seem really useful. I use the "Fancy Zones" Power Toy to easily position applications into the locations where I want them for some of the special tasks that I do. But I still have to open them and drag them into position every time. I also use a Stream Deck, and I was thinking about using it to set up similar workspace configurations. But, that would use up a button on the Stream Deck, require probably more configurating and trial & error than this "Workspaces" Power Toy, and depend upon outside hardware that I might not always have with me. So, I am definitely going to give this a try. Thanks for mentioning it.
I have literally used the Text Extractor to get text from a dialog box that was being shown in a TH-cam video. It literally does Optical Character Recognition on whatever you select.
It's great, I actually discovered during this video that the Snipping Tool in Windows 11 has OCR in it now. I think that's great because these PowerToys can be included in Windows in my opinion, but disabled by default, then users can just enable the modules they want to use.
@@memstechtips I tried the OCR in the snipping tool, and it's too many steps for me. I like that the Text Extractor does only exactly what it says on the tin. Select text. Paste text. Done.
Hi. I see a few usefull tools that I can use in Powertoys. I don't do allot on my pc, but knowing about this incredible piece of software will definitely be a help for me if I need it. Thanks man for this video.
@@memstechtips I had put a link to it in another comment. But, I guess TH-cam doesn't like links in comments. I'll have to remember to hack around that in the future.
I always just double-click on the Task Tray icon, because that takes me straight to the Dashboard. I hate the "menu" that they pop up when you just single-click on the Task Tray icon, because that is full of "recommended" Power Toys that I rarely use. P.S. I just checked with Copilot, and it said that there is no way to control which Power Toys appear in that "Quick Access" menu. Although there are many requests for that feature.

If you set it up properly a real life changer for your everyday routines and/or powerusers.
Yep, and don't forget to check "move existing windows" box

What do u use for moving the bottom bar to top?
He mentioned it very quickly near the beginning of the video. Check for when he first starts to move his mouse up towards it.
StartAllBack - just search my channel for that term, you'll find the video.

They will probably add functionality for that soon enough, the project is updated quite regularly.

I used to use Flow Launcher too, even made videos about it, but since I'm using PowerToys anyway there's no point in using Flow Anymore.

why you use thorium browser?
Mainly because I feel it doesn't use as much resources compared to other Chromium based browsers. I don't like Firefox based browsers.
@@memstechtips got it
What is the difference in ram or other resource usage. I heard there were some malicious code detected in this browser
@@faisalabdin brave is a good choice then!
@@memstechtips try cromite
I tried it. thes tools takes lots of your PC memory and makes it slow. and i have a 32GB RAM
If you have a lot of modules enabled I guess it could start having an effect on pc performance.
Please do you use AI text to speech ?
Not at all, that's me speaking.
