And what a wonderful city it is to. I most certainly would not live anywhere else. People here have the highest standards, and morals unlike places like London. We awake each morning with anticipation, and excitement, at what the day holds for us in our wonderful city. A melancholy tour of life's intersections, forgotten beauty and lost lore. An exploration of place that evokes nostalgia and hope with a realism that cuts to the marrow. Serendipity masked by graffiti, wrapped in home and heart. Life, unvarnished.
Having grown up in a much posher part of the west midlands and having lived here since 2007 i can proudly say it is my home. Yes it's untidy and not exactly picturesque but the people are much friendlier than in much more affluent areas. Enoch Powell couldn't have been more wrong.
Wolverhampton is NOT a city. The Council may insist it is, but that is where its decline began in May 2001, when it was declared a City, and it has not grown, improved, or looked forward since, and we all know it.
I come from a region of coal and steel. Industrial wasteland reminds me of far better days. Days of added value and not of windbags who brag about while changing other peoples' money.
Do you know, even though people tell me how much it's changed, it really hasn't changed much since I left in 1988. At least the city centre hasn't been replaced by ghastly tower blocks, unlike Coventry (where I now live).
Oh wow you’ve been gone for a while! Yeah not much has changed but there is a plan known as ‘Vision 2030’ so maybe we will see some good developments by then.

Great video, loved the shot over looking Victoria Street, filming in the early evening definitely gave the film a nice soft focus. 👍

Personally, I think it should be declared it’s own country now it’s just so great.

Many years ago they had an idea to join Wolverhampton with Northampton and make one fooking great hampton.
Doesn’t sound like the best of ideas😅
