If you're worried about the dressing being slick I wouldn't risk it at all. As long as you use something that's water based and you "knock it down" with a microfiber towel afterwards you should be good to go!
Great, quick and to the point! The mat turned out very nice. Dressing them with anything is always in question. Like you said in the video just be mindful and wipe it up good.
Thank you! Yes, wanted to keep this one short and concise. I actually like to apply the 303 when the mat is still a bit wet so it dilutes it even more. Forgot to mention that in the video!
For sure! I like the greenworks electric pressure washers for at home use. The 2000 psi one is a very well rounded and affordable pressure washer. That's what I started my business out with and it was a workhorse!
I have put my rubber car mats in the shower spray them with whatever product I'm using usually glass cleaner let it soak for a while and wash them in there and then just rinse out the tub
That's a relatively safe cleaner to use, especially diluted, on all interior surfaces. When in doubt always do a small test spot in an inconspicuous area first!
Yep, made the mistake last summer of using a rubber treatment on all three of our vehicles. Looked great but it was a disaster because our feet were slipping all over and you couldn't safely use the pedals. I tried scrubbing the heck out of them but it took the grime and salt of winter to help. The thing is I have 303 that I use on my truck bed cover but I never thought of using it.
It happens to the best of us! It always looks amazing until you slip on them haha. Definitely give the 303 a try and really knock it down when applying. You can even spray it on the mat when it's still wet and that sort of dilutes the product even more to help prevent slickness.
@@high-defdetailing1485 I've got an even dumber story. When we met, my wife had a '74 Nova, and it had a vinyl front bench seat. I had the brilliant idea to ArmorAll the entire interior. The first time she climbed in she slid to the passenger side, and was not very happy. Even with seat belts on you would slip all around, lol. The worst part was I did the headliner too and eventually it fell down. I believe that was the last time I used ArmorAll other than for tires.
Can i use this spray on the tan color HP matts and also can you please recommend a cleanjng spray that i can get at walmart and how long to let the matt dry before putting it back in my car. Thank you and keep up the good work. 🙂❤
Yep! Works great on any color of mats. I’d recommend Super Clean (purple bottle) from Walmart for cleaning. I’d dilute it down with water though so it’s not as strong. You can put the mat back in the car as soon as it’s dry to the touch!
Leather ones? You could actually use this same technique and products, but I would just be more gentle on the scrubbing. Maybe use a towel to wipe instead of a stiff bristle brush
I’m trying to find out how to remove rust stains from the cargo liner. Unfortunately, I bought some outdoor chairs made of steel, only they bleed rust if they get wet, making them a nuisance. I need to get the rust stains out It was next to impossible to figure out this thing is called a cargo liner but now that I know it, I can’t find cleaning instructions.
Try this method in the video but use a stronger degreaser like Purple Power or something similar. It might fade the cargo liner a bit though so I would try diluting the chemical with distilled water first!
Good video. What I always do, take 5 minutes. Hoover them with my hand-held hoover, wipe them down, spray the rubber with tire shine spray. Makes them gleam for weeks 👍
Thanks, Tom! I just added a few links in the description. Several cleaners will work but I recommend a ph neutral citrus cleaner or degreaser. Go easy on the 303 and you’ll be good to go!
Since filming this video I have switched to using DI water at the shop, and that way I can leave mats to dry in the sun after rinsing them. It’s great!
@@edsyphan3425 Deionized water! It's a filtration method used primarily in chemistry labs and hospitals, but has made its way into the detailing world. It's very pure water that won't leave any water spots. You can wash your whole vehicle in direct sunlight and be totally fine.
Dirt is brown. Get beige mats. Problem solved! I’ll never have black again. They’d are awful. Had beige in my truck for 13 years. Looked brand new 13 years later…
I’ve been trying to find a video that shows a good way to do it. Should I even risk dressing my clients cars at all?

McKees Floor Mat Rejuvenator works well and is a one step process.
I’ve been meaning to try that product again. I tried it years ago and got ok results but may not have used it properly.
Thank you my friend, my wife and i have been trying to figure out that problem.
You're welcome! It's aways such a common issue. Hope it works for you guys!

I usually clean my interiors with diluted Simple Green. I would appreciate your feedback on this.

my problem is I just refuse to clean them the whole winter bc it's freezing where I live 😭 do people still break out their hoses in 20 degree weather?
I hear yah! I remember actually bringing my mats inside sometimes and cleaning them in the bathtub 😅Let's just say the wife was not thrilled
Nicely done.
Thanks for watching!

@@high-defdetailing1485 will do brother thanks a lot 🤝
WeatherTech makes a two part cleaning product for their mats. It does an excellent job. Put away your detailing chemistry sets and use it!
I’m sure that’s a great option as well! Really any all purpose cleaner that’s not too aggressive will work great
Would you have a link to share on the WeatherTech product? Thanks!

Rust Removers are going to be acidic.

Just be careful the tire shine doesn’t make them slippery!
Tire shine on your floor mats is dangerous and definitely not recommended.
I’ve seen some wild stuff on mats before. One vehicle I had in the shop seriously looked like the dealership soaked the mat in crisco cooking oil! 😂
What's your dilution ratio for this
For the all purpose cleaner? Somewhere between 3:1 and 5:1. I’ll use it straight on really soiled mats too!
@@high-defdetailing1485 yeah I forgot that part. I am using it for plastic floor liners.
Any advice on how to get Georgia Red Clay off a Weather Tech mat? lol
Being in the Midwest I’ve never dealt with that but this method should work just fine! Use a stronger degreaser maybe!

It still has to flash..
Are you referring to the 303?
Geesh, the first rinse would be fine for normal people , but i suppose there are a lot of obsessive folks that like their mats surgically clean .
Well this is a detailing channel and it’s what I do for a living so…😂
But for sure - sometimes a good rinse is enough!
