I unironically saw some JP twitter, screenshotting the battle between Ririka and Ollie, being like "To Hololive members. This is the actual Gomoku Narabe"
As someone who also manages to do that, I can assure you that if Ollie wore a heartbeat monitor, her heartbeat would be around the hundreds when it was Kanade pickup that piece of hers.
Every experienced chess player does that against people who are new to chess. Once you learn about it you never fall for it again, if you're paying attention.
One of my schoolmates was applying that strat with everyone, until i saw calmy and ate his queen with a pawn... He surrended because he won't play more than that strat
Damn I remember using this move on my friend back in the day. We usually had a really long pauses between playing the game so he often forgot about the move and always fall for it in the first match :D.
you always flex the noob killer strat. You know right away it won't work depending on exactly which pawn they use and where they put it (hint, you counter where the bishop positions before they move it in position)
@@fikribimga Technically, if you wanna be precise, Scholar's Mate is played with Qh5, not Qf3 like Ollie played here, but I don't think it's an important distinction.
Uwaaa...a Fool's Mate, I haven't seen one of those in _forever_ ! Edit: AH! Thanks to the replies consider me learned. I always thought that this was a Fool's Mate and that Ollie just used another name for it.
Fool's Mate is a different set of moves, with black winning on the second move. 1. f3 e6 2. g4 Qh4++ ... or similar moves for white's F pawn and black's e pawn Ollie used Scholar's Mate, which is white winning in four by capturing black's pawn at f7 with a queen, supported by a bishop at c4.
Ollie just flexed her chess brain. Outstanding move!
if you know that scholar's mate you would try it every time you would match up with beginner 😂😂
Scholar checkmate is a trick to win against beginner
shes always down bad for her stacked vtubers. so of course she is a master of chests.
@@rexdev4489 i always win againts my friend with that opening
the annoying thing about the scholars mate is even if you defend against the main attack, there are several ways to flub up and lose material.
Ollie : You are very smart 🙂 next we play chess (smiles like a joker)
Always a pleasure to watch Ollie play chess
It is tradition to beat a beginner with the scholar's mate.
I unironically saw some JP twitter, screenshotting the battle between Ririka and Ollie, being like "To Hololive members. This is the actual Gomoku Narabe"
They saw 2 or 3 moves ahead lol
@@justzanu9338 Or just very attentive. Used to playe 15x15 square tic-tac-toe with the boys back in highschool and this is often how it looked.
As someone who also manages to do that, I can assure you that if Ollie wore a heartbeat monitor, her heartbeat would be around the hundreds when it was Kanade pickup that piece of hers.
she fell into the oldest trick in the book
Scholar Checkmate!? Outstanding move
Yup the Scholar Checkmate, the beginner killer
Result of training for the Tournament Arc is still there, huh?
Consider it home turf advantage, like Sora is with darts now.
Every experienced chess player does that against people who are new to chess. Once you learn about it you never fall for it again, if you're paying attention.
Last time chess match i ever watch in my life is Kiara vs Ame and damn this one look a lot more refreshing
We are both war vets then, I was present for that live too.
Nanchukotta ~🐔
... ...my dad hit me with that when he was first teaching me chess... ...
Likewise; got schooled by my old man with that strategy. And that was well over 20 years ago, too...
It's tradition lmao. But the scholar's mate is what got me into chess.
One of my schoolmates was applying that strat with everyone, until i saw calmy and ate his queen with a pawn... He surrended because he won't play more than that strat
even everyone in JP side so suprised and called RTA Chess 😂 😂 😂 well scholar only works for the newbies 😂
That was surprisingly fast🤣
I didn't even notice how it count as a checkmate in the first place tbh
It's a good one for all beginners to learn.
Her chest power still dwell within her inside dormant
Oldest strat in the book, only works against noobs tho 😂 sorry kanade
Someone just attempting to use that on you is disrespect. 😂 For it to work, well, you're proving them right.
If Ao-sama could understand English, she'd be highly insulted by this. (She fell for the same trap.)
Looks like Ollie chess skill haven't gotten rust a bit, she still got it XD
This is pretty effective way to speed run to 600 rating.
Ollie's check practices paying off!
At least she didn't lose to the Fool's Mate.
bro literally doing the almighty scholars mate
Damn I remember using this move on my friend back in the day. We usually had a really long pauses between playing the game so he often forgot about the move and always fall for it in the first match :D.
Ollie used Basic
It was very effective
Ollie just loves to do the Scholar's on new people XD
There's always always another victim :D
welp, that's "Git Gud Noobs" moves, Scholar CM
The method I often use to finish the game quickly
Makes me remember my first time playing in tournament in bo3 and my opponent scholarmate me twice lol
For a moment I thought Kanade knew the Philidor Defense....
You know Ollie is no joke if and I mean IF you don’t know what happened yourself. 😂
What a dirty move, using scholar mate to a chess newbs😂😂😂😂
Yeah that was a throbbing win.
She did the same move against Ao and still winning
Classic

I play with my brother, first game is fun we played for quite some time, he gave up more and I won, but in the second game he won only a few steps
Lah regloss tuh dah umur 1thn, perasaan baru beberapa bulan yg lalu

Finally some normal checkmate chess, btw that not schoolarmate, schoolarmate mate is started with wayward attack.

it is scholar's mate. cause it ends the game after 4 moves and attacking weak F7
@@fikribimga but many streamers says wayward is the schoolarmate
