That interaction between Frisk and Sans makes soo much more sense when if you watch the season 2 Prologue

It's XGaster talking through them. He can "possess" the people that join him and essentially speak through them or control them to some degree. Whenever you hear wingdings when they talk? That means XGaster is talking through them. Whenever they got purple "x" eyes? XGaster's in there.

I just binged your entire reaction series to Underverse Season 1 and XTale yesterday and subscribed, cool to see this already out!
Also, in the episode itself, there were a few mentions of "an incident" regarding their universe; this is in reference to the Season 2 prologue, Owners. I would recommend you watch it (it's pretty short), but if you don't want to, I'll leave a short summary of the relevant information here:
In the previous Genocide run, Sans achieved a 1 in 9 million chance and killed Frisk for good before the final hit that should have killed him. This caused the timeline to break, and left Sans remembering the previous timeline while Frisk forgot. This made Sans the "owner" of this alternate timeline, which caused XGaster's interest in their universe.

you're missing a few episodes,
they are "truce" (the season 1 prologue)
"owners" (the season 2 prologue)
they are both really short so you could just watch them in the same video as 0.6 or something if you want.
also there's an xtale comic. (2 of them actually but the 2nd one is being worked on randomly)
one just called "XTale" which is bacically the 10th timeline from the POV of cross, but it has much more than just that.
and then there's "21 years" which has extra stuff from the 10th timeline not shown anywhere else and adds a bit of stuff.
xtale is basically 3 parts, the animation, the comic, and the other comic (21 years).
you should read both of them. but i recommend reading the main one before "21 years".

Anyways leaving the rant behind, I love your reactions, ur my favourite and I hope u upload 0.6 soon, it's one of my favourites episode and it has (at least in my opinion) the best fight scene of all Underverse.

Also fun fact, there's a prologue to season 2 called "Owners" which clears some things up about when Sans says "guess the flower was right."
Btw it was Xgaster talking through their bodies you are also right with Xgaster controlling their bodies and under their text sometimes it says what the actual person is saying or trying to say
Next episode, take some time to watch the S2 prologue (it contains some interesting and important stuff), maybe rewatch this episode to reprocess everything (no need to include that ofc)

I do think it's not right to root for XGaster's side, while he is an amazing character, he's torturing his own creations, he drove Chara to insanity, and he is using the XTale people's bodies like puppets while in their insides they are screaming for help in pain. XGaster is a man who led himself crazy trying to create a perfect universe that in reality will never exist, but he's too immature to accept it. His actions led Chara to madness, which in turn led to Cross having a mental breakdown, which led to suffering of the people of Underfell, Underswap and Outertale, as well as the deletion of the entire multiverse, all of that suffering meant just a show for him, a "worthy spectacle", he's come so far that not even he understands how wrong he is. Something you'll understand very well with the next two episodes.
You don't understand, in a multiverse where you can overwrite people's beings and emotions, XGaster feels no attatchment to how he feel because he knows his goal is worth it. In his perfect world, everyone will be content.
@@viennasavage9110 The perfect universe won't exist because that's the point Jael Peñsloza is trying to make with the whole series, it's a series about how perfectionism can destroy a person, and those around them. XGaster already had a good universe, the people there were happy, and he was hsppy, but it wasn't enough for HIM. At the start it was all about making his children happy, but he is a hypocrite, it's all about him, HIS perfect universe, HIS perfect children, HIS perfect XEvent. His goal is a selfish goal. He doesn't care if the people in his universe are "content". And I could bring more points in here but they sre sadly spoilers from both 0.6 and 0.7, and I do not want to spoil this guy in his comment section.

0.5 was crazy, when they released the opening everyone was hyped. That's over now, nobody cares anymore because 0.5 wasn't even that good, all this episode did was show what's going on right now with under 3 minutes of a fight scene. Now that I've pointed all this out, I literally don't even wanna watch the rest of your reaction dude. You should have been here when this episode was still on the podium.
