Israel vs Palestine, what happens next? Is the world up for a technological war? Diplomacy has failed to end the war and everyday Israel and Middle East nations engage in threats to a full-blown war. The United Nations has become neutralized and is failing to play the role for which it was established. Who is to blame?

King David's prophetic prayer to God against those who seek to destroy Israel 🇮🇱
      Psalms 83:2-8
"See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. [3] With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. [4] “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.” [5] With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you- [6] the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, [7] Byblos, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre. [8] Even Assyria has joined them to reinforce Lot’s descendants."
This establishes that David was the King of a nation called ISRAEL, not PALESTINE and the enemies of Israel were and will be, at the end, the surrounding nations.
      Zechariah 12:1-3
'The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel (A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel). Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Who are these nations who are plotting against Israel? People will perish because of ignorance. Blessings!

Only then will others-whoever they are-be forced to make deals on more equal terms.

@@okiemutefoyibo9181 You're right, maybe I went too far saying "blaming the West for everything." But I still think we should focus on what we can control. Constantly bringing the West into the conversation can distract us from our own responsibilities. Sure, some in the West might not want a united, stronger Africa, but do you really think everyone in Africa is on board with unity? Not everyone pulling in different directions is doing so because of Western influence. There are internal factors too-local power struggles, political factions, and economic interests that don’t always align with unity. On top of that, we’ve got international players like China and the Gulf states with their own agendas. They might not want a stronger Africa either, but for different reasons. It’s not just about the West anymore; there are many forces at play. Don’t you think it’s time to look at the bigger picture and consider all the factors involved?

The phrase "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" reflects the highly subjective and often polarized nature of conflicts involving political violence, insurgency, or rebellion. It speaks to the complexities surrounding the labeling of individuals or groups as "terrorists" or "freedom fighters" depending on one's perspective, ideology, or vested interests.
    Case Study Framework
To understand the depth of this issue, we can structure the case study as follows:
    Introduction
Definition and historical context of the phrase.
Examination of how political violence and rebellion are framed differently by various actors (governments, insurgents, civilians, international bodies).
Introduction to the concepts of terrorism and freedom fighting.
Conceptual Differences Between Terrorism and Freedom Fighting
Terrorism: Typically defined as the use of violence or intimidation to achieve political goals, often targeting civilians and creating fear. It is usually condemned by state actors and international bodies such as the United Nations (UN) as illegal and morally unacceptable.
Freedom Fighting: Refers to acts of rebellion or resistance by people seeking to overthrow an oppressive regime, colonial power, or occupation, often viewed as justified self-defense or a struggle for liberation by sympathizers.
International Legal Framework: Examination of international treaties (e.g., Geneva Conventions) and their perspectives on armed resistance and terrorism.
    Case Studies
    A. The Irish Republican Army (IRA)
Background: The IRA, particularly active during "The Troubles" (late 1960s to 1998), sought to end British rule in Northern Ireland and achieve a united Ireland. It conducted bombings, assassinations, and other violent actions.
Perspective 1: The British government and many of its citizens viewed the IRA as a terrorist organization, pointing to its attacks on civilians and use of violence to achieve political ends.
Perspective 2: Many Irish nationalists and sympathizers around the world viewed the IRA as freedom fighters resisting British occupation and fighting for the rights of Northern Irish Catholics, who faced systemic discrimination.
Outcome: The conflict largely ended with the Good Friday Agreement (1998), but debates over the IRA's legacy remain, illustrating how political context changes perceptions over time.
    B. Nelson Mandela and the African National Congress (ANC)
Background: The ANC, under apartheid South Africa, employed armed resistance and sabotage against the apartheid regime, which brutally oppressed the non-white population.
Perspective 1: The apartheid regime and its allies (including some Western countries during the Cold War) labeled Mandela and the ANC as terrorists for using violence against the state.
Perspective 2: The global anti-apartheid movement saw Mandela and the ANC as freedom fighters waging a just war against racial oppression.
Outcome: Mandela was released from prison, apartheid collapsed, and Mandela became South Africa’s first Black president in 1994. Over time, Mandela came to be celebrated globally as a champion of peace and justice, while the former apartheid regime is widely condemned for its human rights abuses.
    C. Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and Hamas
Background: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, ongoing since 1948, involves groups like the PLO and Hamas who seek to establish a Palestinian state and resist Israeli occupation. Both have employed violence, including suicide bombings and rocket attacks.
Perspective 1: Israel and many of its allies label groups like Hamas as terrorists, emphasizing their attacks on Israeli civilians and refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist.
Perspective 2: Many Palestinians and supporters view these groups as freedom fighters resisting occupation, emphasizing the long-standing grievances of Palestinian displacement, military occupation, and rights violations.
Outcome: The conflict remains unresolved, with international opinions deeply divided. Various countries and organizations view the PLO and Hamas differently, depending on geopolitical interests and ideological positions.
    D. Taliban and Al-Qaeda
Background: The Taliban, which emerged in Afghanistan in the 1990s, and Al-Qaeda, responsible for the 9/11 attacks, have both been designated terrorist groups by many international actors. The Taliban has conducted a long-term insurgency against U.S. and NATO forces and the Afghan government.
Perspective 1: Western countries, particularly after 9/11, labeled these groups as terrorists responsible for mass violence, civilian deaths, and destabilizing Afghanistan.
Perspective 2: Among certain radical Islamist groups and some local populations in Afghanistan, the Taliban is viewed as freedom fighters resisting foreign occupation.
Outcome: The Taliban regained control of Afghanistan after the U.S. withdrawal in 2021, leading to a complex global debate about whether they are a legitimate government or still a terrorist organization.
Factors Shaping the Terrorist/Freedom Fighter Label
Political Perspective: A group's activities are often interpreted based on the observer's political ideology. For example, during the Cold War, the U.S. often supported armed groups fighting against communist regimes, branding them as freedom fighters (e.g., the Contras in Nicaragua), even if their methods were violent.
Historical Context: Time tends to reshape the image of groups or individuals. Many former "terrorists," such as Mandela, have later been celebrated as statesmen and Nobel laureates.
Media Representation: The way media frame these groups or conflicts plays a critical role in shaping public opinion. Governments often use media to disseminate their perspective, labeling violent actors as "terrorists" to delegitimize their cause.
Public Support and Legitimacy: Groups that garner significant support from local or international communities are often more likely to be viewed as legitimate freedom fighters rather than terrorists.
    Ethical and Legal Challenges
Civilian Casualties: The morality of targeting civilians is a key factor in determining whether a group is viewed as a terrorist organization or a resistance movement.
Legitimacy of the Cause: Some argue that if the cause (e.g., decolonization, ending apartheid) is just, then the violent means can be justified under certain circumstances, as seen in cases like the ANC.
The Role of States: Governments may also use violent tactics against their own people or others, leading to accusations of "state terrorism." For instance, the use of chemical weapons by Syria or the actions of the Pinochet regime in Chile.
    Conclusion
The label of "terrorist" or "freedom fighter" is often a matter of perspective, shaped by politics, historical context, and media portrayal. Groups that fight against established regimes may be viewed as terrorists by those in power but as freedom fighters by those who support their cause.
Over time, perceptions can change, especially as conflicts end, regimes fall, or new political arrangements arise. Understanding these distinctions requires a nuanced approach that recognizes the complexities of political violence, the legitimacy of resistance, and the importance of civilian protection.
    Final Reflections
The phrase "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" is not merely a rhetorical device but a reflection of deeper ideological divides and the fluidity of political labels. By examining historical and contemporary cases, it becomes clear that the distinction between terrorism and freedom fighting is not always clear-cut and often depends on who writes history and holds power at any given time.

This is a very strong academic analysis of the situation. However, you will notice that there could be very unique details that may not apply to all those situations.
Let's stay with the Israel and Palestine situation. In 1948 ignoring any other historical details, both people groups were given statehood authority. One declared herself and the other instead looked at the declaration as her non-existence, and then went ahead to deny the declaration made by her newly-Statehood brother and fought her existence.
The proper thing to do for the Palestinians was to also declare their statehood. Whatever, their reason which may be land size, the Palestinians can still come back to the body that pronounced the two State solution and seek redress. But to show you that the entire Arab world refused the solution but preferred the annihilation of Israel, instigated the several wars that ensued the very next day after declaration to this very day.

That is not true do your research properly. The was never a state or a country called israel infact they didn't even know what name they wanted to give it. During the holocaust Palestinians welcome the persecuted jews to their homes and after that the zionists took advantage of the kindness to establish a state called israel by killing and slaughtering driving the survivors from their homes to build what they call israel today.

@ElijahMatodzi the conflict is between Zionists vs Palestinian Christians, Muslims and Jew.
Zionists don't even believe in God's existence.
Jews vs Muslims is a propaganda the Zionists put out to get the support of Christians.
If it's Jews vs Muslims, why Isreal(Zionists) destroy churches and target real Palestinian Jews who are against the Zionist movement. Do some research and you will know what I am talking about.

Prof. Lumumba is an academician so he speaks to satisfy the tingling mind. But what God wants to do is supreme. Its not about what we like or who we want to support, its all about God, so check where you are.

The professor needs to give more analyses like this so we can understand why millions of Muslims are invading Europe which only a few decades ago tried to kick out all its Jews who then went to Israel.

I'm disappointed with the professor. Somehow he thinks both parties are equal. He forgot one side is civilian and defenceless refugees. 😢. Under occupation since 1948 and brutal siege for 17 years...
David and Goliath , no comparison.
