    Concise and constructive video! I remember that upper bolt (13:30) being a pain in the ass but that's a great idea using the bolt to push it in place. I did this a couple years ago on my 04 tacoma now Im gonna have to do it again for my 99 tacoma in a few weeks🤙

    Definitely flip the overload spring. It doesn’t matter if it’s flipped. It just prevents you from getting those edges caught on things off-road

    I am sure some would flip over the overload springs to stiffen and possibly get a small liftin the rear.But would maybe break one other weaker springs where end of overload spring stopped.

    Looks like a nice daily driver. I wish I had your electric locker in my 'yota'bota. You should think about doing a video on bypassing the 4x4 stuff so the locker can be used in 2wd as well. You will be happy with the mod.

    Thanks for sharing! I'm watching this, again, after watching your 4WD conversion, and I think I can maybe handle this first (on my 2004 PreRunner) before even thinking about that conversion. A few questions from a very green wrencher: (1) would it be easier to swap out the entire leaf spring set (instead of adding just the one leaf - I'm guessing that saved some $$ and your leaf springs still have a lot of life left)? (2) I read somewhere that a lift on PreRunners causes issues with the drive shaft since it is just 2WD and, obviously, a different setup than the 4WD rear drive shaft - any thoughts on issues/problems there? (3) what is your lift setup now (from center cap to fender)? I'm on the original suspension - way overdue for an upgrade, so I thought I'd lift it a little while I'm at it. Thanks, again!

    • @hv4285
      @hv4285 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      (1) depends, you need to remove the leaf spring shackles to install new springs and sometimes those are ceased up really bad so you would have to cut them anyway, whereas the add a leaf in the video, he cuts the top and punched out the center bolt. Both processes are straightforward, just be careful, go slow and observe all the components
      (2) I had the same lift on my tacoma for about 3 years now, pavement driving and occasional offroad and lightduty trails no issues

    @CRACKED housing fab so what was the reason for the add a leaf? Did you have suspension issues? Or was it because of the squat with the trailer? My truck feels alittle floaty and i can figure out why.

    • @CRACKEDHOUSINGFAB
      @CRACKEDHOUSINGFAB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did the add a leaf because my stock springs were sagging a little and also for when I hook my trailer up to it. It made a big difference in how it drives as far as the floaty feeling. I think it was worth it!
