Hi great video, I've been searching for a while to find a tutorial on passing UTM parameters via a cookie and this is the best one. Great job. If I wanted to grab and store more than one UTM parameter, can I just add multiple IF statements to session variable?
Hi Ed, you make really detailed and easy to follow tutorials. Many thanks for that. Just a request! Could you make some tutorials on Dynamic remarketing using GTM and Enhanced ecommerce with GTM.
Rajdip Chakrabarty thanks. Check out my channel. There are several videos on enhanced ecommerce. Also, the GTM tutorial covers enhanced ecommerce in GTM.
Hi Ed! Great video! Thanks for sharing. We set this up but it only works GTM preview/debug mode but doesn't work on live traffic. Do you have any idea what might cause that?
@@MetricMogul Thanks for the response. Confirmed, the container was published. What's interesting is we just tested the setup on another domain and it worked. So it must be due to the GTM setup on the particular domain. If you have any thoughts on what might cause that it would be appreciated. Thanks again for your help!
Brian Zito when you say it isn’t working, what exactly do you mean? Could you confirm the GTM container is installed on your live site, the container is published, the domain variables within GTM are set to your domain. Are you seeing gtm.js library load in the browser’s dev console? Are you seeing any GA requests going to the server in the browser’s dev console?
I've got the same problem, i can see the cookie on the domain and have it follow me page to page but when i move from one domain to the other it doesn't work. We have 4 different domains and nobody lands directly on the domain where we capture all the info.
Hi Ed, thanks for the video. Is it technically possible to do this for 2 different domains? We have GTM on our main website, but then redirect to a form at subdomain.typeform.com (where we also added the same GTM) - but all variable data get's lost on the new domain. Is there a way to set cross-domain cookies in GTM? Or is here an other variable types better?
This works in debugger mode but doesn’t fire up in my live site. Do we need a trigger to load the query into the query variable?
Thank you for your time and tutorial. You solved my problem.

Marisa Shirley I’m not sure why that would be. It should work exactly the same way. Have you published the GTM container?

@Brian Zito I have the same issue. Did you ever resolve?
