I always tie a loop in the mono and thread the hook on, then wrap the mono around the hook shank once for rigidity, but the little junction tube things look faster and easier if I'm understanding them right
Great Video. Got a question for you. Is it possible to tie tube flies for Smallmouth patterns and be able to strip them. Like crawdads or Clousers on a tube? Even more of a weirdo question, is it possible to tie deer hair flies on a tube? I just moved to West Virginia and fishing for a lot of smallmouth on a switch rod., I came from Northern Ohio where tube flies were for Steelheads and would like to try Smallmouth tubes if possible?
haha...your timing is impeccable. I just ordered more tube fly tying material....looks like I may have to make a trip over the hill this weekend to see you guys and get some more.
Which weights are you referencing? I've seen flies spin a bit in the tank and when I'm fishing in any number of situations. I don't think the weights will make them more likely to spin around. I've found that flies without defined wings or dumbell eyes tend to spin more because they lack stabilization

Ashland FlyShop I mean the cylinder weights that look like copper tubes
