Is there any circumstance more than just heating that will cause electronics to fail? For example if I connect 72 Volt to a 36V controller I would imagine that something in the controller would melt or a plug fuse would blow (which is a small metallic thread that melts). I'm thinking of one more reason things would fail and that is sparks. I learned that sparks will always cause materials to decompose and ruin a clear connection. Happy for a response from you.

Any time a limit of an electronic device is exceeded its life is shortened. If you over volt over amp overheat something among other things it will either fail or shorten its life. The desaturation detection is able to prevent over amp failures which is a very common cause of three phase motor controller failures and most likely 99% of all my failures. When one side of an H bridge is on for whatever reason and the other is turned on you will get a pass though is this happens the desaturation detection will shut the side off that is commanded on. Sometimes the wrong side can be turned on from noise or the miller effect or its shorted etc. Or there is the times when a mechanical problem is present. Say a wrench falls across the phase wires..... There is a lot of reasons to have this feature and no reason not to. If you say price I will slap you as I have burnt $1000s of mosfets learning this the hard way!

Thanks for the reply Arlin. I have only burned one Crystalyte hub motor and that was because I couldn't stop showing off my 72V setup and raced a girl that had a scooter. Yeah I probably made her raise her eye browse a little but it was stupid of me. I didn't know her at all. I was lucky to be able to drive all the way to my Brothers house but when the motor cooled off it was dead. One week later I opened it up and the inside was just a wreck. :)

Is it part of the video to speak so fucking low and far away?
