I’ve always done a gloss treatment after my **permanent** color to seal it in, my former master stylist taught me this. However, that’s NOT possible when using temporary color that sits on the strands. Because, like you mentioned, even clear gloss treatments need some small volume of developer to process. She probably saw someone doing a permanent coloring which ended in a clear gloss treatment and mistakenly thought she could apply it to her temporary coloring. Because she didn’t understand the difference. That’s why it’s so important to know what you’re doing before you do it.

I use purple AF Arctic Fox all the time. When developer hits it, or you're trying to lift it out with a bleach bath, it usually turns minty green.
Yeah, I gather it's because the red pigments bleach out first, leaving the blue which mixed with the underneath yellow tones makes green?

The long hair dragging behind I don't believe. There's no way a person would let their hair drag the ground that way if they grew it out that long. It would break the hair and be so sticky and dirty. No way.
I agree. That was my first thought. Who wants their hair dragged on the floor. Definitely fake hair. And way too much.
Totally grossed me out of it being dragged on the ground...fake or not. Could have gotten caught in the escalator too...eeks

Also, the danger of it getting caught in the escalators (as someone with a phobia of them it creeped me out).

Some of those transformations well.. different. The Fuchsia and bright lime green color transformation was beautifully done. The lady with the EXTREMELY long braid walking around the mall.. my luck someone would have stepped on it and give me whiplash! Yikes! She’s lucky the braid didn’t get stuck in the escalator!

You are correct (about the 2:04 ish chick). I just watch the video on Instagram about this guy who uses Redken gels to remove direct dyes off of his client’s hair instead of using color remover or bleach. He uses that with developer, and it comes right off. The girl had bright pink hair, and he used clear with developer for her case but he said you could use whatever color you want, basically. If you wanted to go for a blondish color, you can go more towards that direction. And it did a wonderful job lifting that direct dye from her hair. And she virtually had no damage at all. I’m definitely going to try that in the future. With the girl in this video, she should’ve just taken some shades EQ clear (the stuff in the big bottle - not the little bottle that needs to be mixed with processing solution) and just pour that on her hair and let that sit for a little bit. I would’ve done a good job, giving her that gloss that she was looking for.
The last one is preparing for a Javanese wedding, artistic yes but more so cultural
that long hair on the escalator is so dangerous, if it got stuck in the bottom she could be scalped.

That hair on that escalator?! That's a big HELL NAH from me 😨😨😨
First one is fake, I think, as you don't see any hair falling from the "cuts"
The second one is so, so true.
Third one the box says it's just supposed to be a clear, colourless gloss.
Fourth, not my thing, but the lines are sharp.
Fifth, I kind of like it! Both at the start and the end.
Sixth, I quite liked the orange, amd the purple at the end was rather fun.
Seventh, I don't think it's particularly flattering, but it certainly straightened.
Eighth, that poor woman, that looked painful to get out.
Ninth, I suspect is fake. Why use fire for detail work when it's much easier to use a razor.
Tenth I think that might be Bobby Hair Studio and their work is always impeccable.
Eleventh - juat ridiculous and kinda gross with it trailing over the floor.
Twelfth is impressive, but sorta bonkers and limits stuling options.
Thirteenth is surprisingly effective. I love it.
Fourteenth is incredibly impressive, but not my thing.
Fifteenth - why would you wax your whole scalp? It's incredibly impractical and painful.
Sixteenth - no! He had such gorgeous hair and he now just looks like anyone.
Seventeenth. Great job, though i hate those colours for me.
Eighteenth, I can't say that I care for. Maybe for a fashion show or something, but I don't much like the effect.

I've only ever seen clear as a semi permanent and that was way way back. It was just meant to put a shine on natural hair i think. Never used it though.
I used to use it all the time over my highlights to make them last. Clear coat will prolong your color treatment by a couple months.

Hair Buddha you're right! clear that is mixed with developer will remove some direct pigment. It does not work as a sealant!
Only on permanent color or pre lightened hair

the girl with the purple could have just went back to purple from the green. that is what i did, i had a blue that faded to green and went to the perfect purple with arctic fox af.

I had models on stage or at shootings with defined hair does bigger than their heads and I don't think that there is a reason for this amount of hairspray.

Hallo Hair Buddha , ik ben al meer dan 30 jaar bij dezelfde kapster, dit jaar ben ik begonnen met mijn haar helemaal te kleuren ( blond ) ipv highlights op mijn natuurlijke haar , mijn kapster gebruikt KMS producten die van een goede kwaliteit zijn denk ik , de laatste keer dat ik mijn uitgroei liet doen vond dat mijn hoofdhuid bijzonder pijnlijk aanvoelde , na de shampoo kon ik het uitkammen bijna niet verdragen, ik dacht dat dit normaal was , nu heb ik op reis mijn uitgroei laten bijkleuren, en daar gebruikte men Keune , deze kleuring vond ik veel zachter op de hoofdhuid, de kapster was zo vriendelijk om mij te laten weten welke nummers ze heeft gebruikt ( 3/4 nr.10 1/4 nr.9 + een beetje grijs , ik weet echter niet welke volume developer ze heeft gebruikt, kan u mij aub uw professionele raad geven welk volume ik moet gebruiken? Dank bij voorbaat 🙏🏻
She's gonna get that hair caught in the escalator, and an escalator does NOT CARE about your puny human tissue. It will rip the scalp right from your head using your hair. She's incredibly stupid for letting it sit on the escalator like that.
