I wanted to beat the rain and get in a quick Pond Fishing Sesh in. It proved to be well worth the effort even though I got rained on a bit. Once again, the Yamamoto Fat Ika proved to be the hot bait.

Awesome man! Killin em! 😃😎🤙🏽 What line and leader you running on your Ika setup? Ever have problems with the braid digging into itself and stopping your casts dead mid flight? I’ve pretty much taken all braid off the majority of my casters haha besides the absolute necessary techniques cause I don’t enjoy seeing baits soar to the moon 🌙😂

Hahahaha - Thank Richie. I'm getting numbers, but now size. And, I haven't hooked into a smallmouth bass in ages. I miss those guys. I use 20 lb braid most of the time and then switch up between an 8 to 12 lb Floro leader. Most of the time I use 10 here because of all the junk in the water. I am about to keep a 70 size casting setup rigged up with 8 lb when I need to through smaller baits. I still have no idea how fish out here though.

Hi Ariel! Love the videos! Sure miss fishing with you here. Going to give the Ika a try in the coming weeks. Any IKA tips for Castaic? The Lakes been tough the last few weeks here! Thanks Chris. The gang has been having some success on the Ika there. I am convinced, the only reason, I'm having success with it here is because so few people throw it. That said, the Ika is slow fishing. At the Dam, I kinda just drag it along the bottom, occasionally popping it to get clear from a rock. At the goon, I'm popping it a lot more. I would just experiment and have fun. Any color is good as long as it's GREEN Pumpkin.
