i can understand this video was done with good intentions. that being said, anyone watching this be WARNED. there is a gross lack of mechanical knowledge in just hand tightening spark plugs. the plugs will vibrate loose from a running engine, causing compression loss and engine damage. maybe not quite as dangerous as a tire falling off at 65mph from hand tightening your wheel lugs nuts after changing a tire, but the same lack of common sense
Thanks for that. I meant to put it on the ends of the sparks plug to help lube the coil pack. I will redo the sparks plugs and hopefully there isnt any damage.
Taking into account the previous comments and their potential detrimental impacts on combustion and your new spark plugs.... How did you go with the Denso Iridium IU27s in the long run? Any noticeable difference in idle or throttle response?
Mostly a nice video though there a couple of things you may want to rethink. Dielectric grease on the plug threads is definitely incorrect. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicone_grease Perhaps a little antisieze compound on the threads would be a good idea. Also, the crush gasket on the plugs will not seal by torquing it hand tight. The leaking combustion products will eventually destroy the coil - $$$$. The plug will likely not back out, being prevented by the coil insulator boot.
