When Ugarte was at Sporting he had the look of a young Casemiro before he went to Real Madrid. He has more pace than Casemiro has EVER had. Would be a perfect signing. He has had a disagreement with Luis Enrique at PSG. So they are looking to move him on out.
Disagreement is not the issue. It's his profile.
@@XDIDK-vm6lg It's also that they have ridiculous options in midfield. Vitinha has become one of the best midfielders in Europe last season and now they have brought in the Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo who people reckon is a world class DM in the making. Throw in Zaïre-Emery who is destined for greatness plus Fabian Ruiz. They can afford to make a quick decision on Ugarte.
He is exactly the type of player we need, young hopefully hungry as for not playing at PSG all the time sometimes a manager just doesn't rate a player did the current PSG manager buy him?
Need to drop the branthwaite saga massively over priced and there is better out there just my opinion though everyone is different
Agree 100 percent....thes players that come through at that price underperform
Get him casemiro go the other way
@@dumysani2801Casemiro has to go yes but we need a cheaper Cb as a player
and he lacks pace
Now RVN is there he will want him
It’s turning into the: I’ve not seen enough about him Podcast 😂
And if he isn't English Jay definitely not watched them
Honestly... I don't mind it. It means we're not signing the most obvious candidates like in times past.
Yea also just coz you watch a highlights clip of a footballer on YT doesn't mean you know everything about the guy either 🤷♂️ Unless you're watching games week in week out of every team you're not gonna know everything there is to know
@@coconutzmilk fair logic 👍🏼
And that’s a GREAT sign. It means United are finally doing some serious scouting before the entire world is on top of it.
Manuel Ugarte is a very hard working DM and covering a lot of space and is more of a pure ball winner and breaking up games. He is strong and physical but he is not a creative player and he is not particularly quick either. But he is tough and have a great mentality. He remind me about Lizandro Martinez.
Think his pace for a DM is okay, better than casemiro at least.
If its true he reminds of Martinez, then get him in right away
I'll drive him from Paris to Carrington myself.
I think the, 'Casemiro is done' tune by most of the media is a stretch. He has had a bad season, fact. Why? Maybe cuz he had a bad injury, and has struggled to return to top form.
Also, the squad has been in chaos mode all season. He probably is a victim of the trobules.
He is a top player. I think theres a place to keep him, and maybe modify his role in the squad.
Bad analogy Joe, Di Maria always wanted PSG
That doesn't make it a bad analogy. Di Maria arrived at OT had a bad season and was sold. Ugarte arrived in Paris, had a bad season and is potentially leaving. The analogy makes sense.
Urgate hasn't had a bad season Luis Enrique demands his 6 to be able to play 1 and 2 touch through the lines like Bustques, Urgate is more in the mould of Casemiro
Anyone else really wish we had kept Sabitzer, cos I do.
Nope..
Casimiro's physique. Did you see him during the pre-season matches last summer Jay?? He was ripped. The guy had stomach muscles. 6/8 pack. He's just got a round face. People look at his face and think he's overweight. When he puts most of us to shame in comparison.
Shows you these so called media people don't know everything.
The rumours around casemiro last year were that he was one that would come back from summer a little out of shape. Just like rooney and luke shaw and some others, some can rely on their talent to get them through the first month or two before they're back to their best. If that's the case with casemiro, then next season will only be worse than the last one. I like to be optimistic and dream of one last dance because he was a world class player, but it's just too big a risk. His body just doesn't seem up to it anymore.
I love the guy in terms of his career and personality, and feel sorry for him for his drop off. It's never nice to see. But I think he's gotta go to Saudi and maybe play with ronaldo. He'll sell shirts, and if he plays 15/20 games and scores 3 or 4 big goals like his first season with us, it'll be a nice way to round things off for him. That's gotta be his next move. Go get in the gym with ronaldo and have a nice little semi retirement in Saudi
Did you see him in pre-season matches last summer? He took his jersey off and the guy was ripped. He had 6/8 pack. He's just got a round face that makes him look chubby. I wish I had a 6 pack!!
@@gamerbeans7445 you can be ripped but not be match fit. Having low body fat has little to do with running for 90 minutes.
so i should not get his name on the back of the new 2024/25 home kit i just got?
so should not get casemiro on my new united shirt i just got in the mail?
@@gamerbeans7445lots of people are ripped. The skinny ones win the marathons.
Get him.. one of the first on the teamsheet for Uruguay. He didn't play much in the second half of the season for PSG due to a disagreement with the manager.
Considering PSG only signed Ugarte last season and paid £51mill for him, I can’t see them letting him leave without recouping that transfer fee. Think it would be a decent signing, I don’t think we have the funds to pull it off
Yeah if his wages are 150k weekly then that's about 8M, leaving them probably wanting about 40-45M fee
@@RedDevilDog1207 I had a look earlier, his wages apparently (base wage) is £100k. I’d expect them to want to recoup just the transfer fee (which means we’d need to spend at LEAST £50mill) and considering it’s PSG and they just lost Mbappe on a free, I can see them wanting up to £75mill
If he's one year into a five year contract then his book value is already down to ~40m, so maybe they'd be happy with that much.
@@jf2364 if you do just his transfer fee then I guess so, but if you also add his wages into it (for their books), his value is closer to £60mill. I guess if they are willing to listen to offers then it’s possible we could get him for between £40mill and £50 mill. The issue is that if the reports we’ve had a bid rejected ARE true, no one has reported what that figure is which means the speculation on what he’ll cost is even stronger/bigger 😂
@nickcollins5191 oh they're going to be greedy for sure lol
We need a team of players with the work ethic of Bruno!!
Ugarte a workhorse...problem is so is his countryman Pellestri who can't get in but starting for Uruguay
We need 2 players who play at defensive midfielder so we never have to worry about mctominay playing 6 again even if one gets injured or because we need to rotate. My only concern with ugarte is his ability on the ball to pass or dirbble out of trouble. Casemiro had alot of issues doing this and gave the ball away alot which we can’t have if we want to be consistent going forward.
The reason why this can works is Ugarte has what it takes but maybe not found it at PSG. Brailsford is a performance and mentality coach that other coaches learn from. Maybe the thinking is they can get him on a bargain and and the staff can squeeze the best out of him. Maybe Fletcher can show him how to be a beast.
Other News: Martinez has been absolutely mint for Argentina in the Copa America. Two clean sheets and has showed his usual world class traits in two solid games so far. Canada & Chile ain’t world beaters but he has shown already what we have missed all season: awareness, composure, positivity, positioning, tough tackling, calmness etc etc.
Watching Sabitzer, and the way Ragnick orchestrated the team , United wtf you useless lot
Rangnick's united players were too lazy for that.
We have a good relationship with PSG they say. We have been discussing a few players. Both us and PSG have a strong interest in Neves at Benfica. Also I am guessing Rashford will have come up when discussing players.
Urgate is a must buy he's great of football manager
Imagine because of poor planning, the money that signed 30 year old Casemiro could have signed 2 Ugartes or both Ugarte and Yosouf Fofana.. And the money that signed Maguire could have signed 3 Todibos ...Liverpool do these sorts of cheaper, quality, hungry, young players (macallister ,gravenberch, and the 'Japanese guy' ) all 3 midfielders about same price as Casemiro
I think with the salah question ( would he have been world class with Roma).. there's a certain chemistry around a club at certain times that elevates players...its a synergy.... something that you can't quite put your finger on
Ten hag bloods players in carefully and gradually like Garnacho. Do you think ten hag can develop amad to be a replacement for Olise and offer something to the striker like Olise could have?
I wanted Ugarte in the last window and was disappointed that PSG got him. This kid is special and reference point is he plays like a Joshua Kimmich type of player. I'd be stoked if we got him.
given the reported lack of money to buy and difficulty on sales, it would be great if Paddock would do a video on which youth players can break through next season and the season after: the class of '25? e.g. Amass next season or season after? This will shape our transfers
Ineos and the United board have to be honest with themselves, and answer the question "What will it take Man United to win the league in 4 or 5 seasons time?". And hopefully the right words that are coming in their heads are 'buy young players that will develop into world class players', 'having the right blend of youth and experience', 'improve training facilities', 'improve youth academy', 'improve stadium', 'improve scouting network', 'spend money on players wisely, spending money on the right players to improve the squad', etc.... Hopefully Ten Hag is the man to take us there. The United owners need to back him, and give him a chance.
Ugarte wasn't even that bad for PSG; he's a pure ball winning midfielder and behind Mainoo and Bruno that's exactly what we'll need to finish off that midfield
It's a sign of the transfers we need to make too, exactly why we should take De Ligt for 42m - he worked last time he played for Ten Hag, he's a great player, and he won't cost us 70m like Branthwaite
Before Bruno moved to Sporting, his career was very very underwhelming - sometimes world class players can come from the most unlikely places
All we've got in our team right now is Bruno, but in Garnacho, Mainoo, and Martinez we've got 3 potentially world class players just waiting for something to click (or for enough time performing at their current standard to have passed for people to really recognize their talent).
We shouldn't be setting our sights on the Premier League right now; the goal SHOULD be to stabilize the team and get us to a standard where we're in the conversation every year. When we're there we can do what Ole tried to do the summer we signed Varane, Sancho, and Ronaldo after his team was stable and sign world class talent to be the cherry on top - with the difference that we just need to get the right cherry
This a great episode. particularly the second half.
Is he good enough? Ugarte is not Luis Enrique type player. He favours Fabiana Luiz and Vitinha because they are more press resistant and play Tiki taka. Ugarte is more like Atletico Madrid's De Paul in the sense that his very defensive, hard tackling and makes driving runs
Is this true? Ugarte is client of Jorge Mendes. Loves to name check United
wondering if rabiot and agent are using united to get a better deal with Juve or elsewhere
I like that we're going for this kind of player to actually improve our starting 11, but we need to bolster our bench too. It seems like we barely have enough senior players to call up, our squad is trash. We should seriously scour the Championship for British players costing 1-5M that will do a job for us, use the new scouting system, it's been done before. I'd rather have a Dan James coming off the bench than an Antony, and if we're focusing on young British players the resale value will be much higher the initial fee.
This would be huge and one of few that would actually be worth the money and do a good job for us.
Have seen this guy's clips he is just good, we need him come on Man United ❤❤
Is there any danger of someone accurately reporting that Man United are in for a certain player and that player actually signs?
Ugarte, Alvarez and Paulinha would improve our midfield by a lot. Casemiro is declining as we speak and Amrabat is going back to Fiorentina.
Ugarte, is awesome, both feet, covers every blade of grass and tackles like a beast, exactly what we need behind a roaming Bruno. I doubt we are in for him as this would be an epic signing and that is not what we normally go for, this would be a top world class signing
He’s great ground eater and tackler like Kante, exactly what we need
Instead of buying Ugarte United should go for Palinha, dude is very experienced and have been in the PL for me years now. Why are united too focused on young talents only!!!? knowing well that u need in some balance from the experienced players such as Palinha. Like Ugarte should only come on Loan with some sort of clause in case he succeeds then you sign him on an agreed advanced fee. Correct me if i'm wrong but buying Ugarte while you stilll the most average players like Mount, Mctomminay it's gonna make things worse at the club. We need a proper cleanse in that squad before bringing in other players or do it vice-versa recruit your targets as early as possible then get rid of the average squad players.
Might as well go for Edson Alvarez, played for TenHag and he’s PremLeague proven.
Alvarez just got injured on Copa America and won't start the season.
i dont think a bid has gone in prob the initial talks with the club they wont put in a bid without talks been held with PSG
Surely PSG would like a Sancho type creative player to boss it in Ligue 1. United need to offload players and be creative in doing it. They take Sancho and we get Ugarte.
Really good DM seen his name linked before. Would be a good move. Don't think its a quality thing. More a style of play thing.
United need to look at a lad called ndoye from Bologna been watching him for Switzerland he’s unreal be a brilliant signing for us
Nope.. Not good with his feet.. Motta tried to get rid
United needs Calafiori...
While we hope for ANYTHING to happen in the Men's team, PSG have snapped up Mary Earps. Still continuing to be useless with the Women's team I see.
Who gives a monkey's? What have they got to do with anything this video is discussing. Be gone!
How much did we bid for Ugarte?
Ugarte playing 37 games at PSG ISNT Exactly a red flag, PSG are stacked so him getting that much game time at his age is somewhat of a positive.
No question Mark after bid?
United should've made a bid for him back when he was at Lisbon.
From what I remember, Sporting wanted his release clause to let him go (which PSG activated the first week of July). At the time, United were chasing De Jong, and even if we weren’t, I think he’d have probably still have chosen PSG over a United move
@@nickcollins5191the De Jong saga was two years ago. Chelsea went in for him but apparently wages and agents fees were an issue.
@@surpriserakins9067 holy shit! It does NOT feel like 2 years ago that we were chasing De Jong 😂 I’m guessing we just didn’t have the money for him last year then (well, I guess we did but we spent it on Mount instead)
@@nickcollins5191 plus we hoped Casemiro would continue from where he left off in his first season
Up and comming midfielder... good
Onana from Everton a and Calvert Lewin
I’d imagine if we lose out to PSG for Neves, we’ll take Ugarte since he will be surplus to requirements.
Man U You got it... easy pun right there when we sign him.. you're welcome
We didn't even bid for him last year.
Really good stuff today guys.
Let's be serious. PSGs midfield is miles better than ours with multiple quality options. Could be a good fit next to Kobbie.
Ugarte is class. Machine. A bit wreckless at times. Watch his performances at sporting. He started well at PSG and i think him and luis enrique had a falling out or something
Yeh way you guys have spoken about Casemiro for months is disgusting.. the guy has been injured.. playing infront of a shocking back 4 that changes every week.. with midfield partners they changed every week and often played in bloody defence.. and you’re judging him like he played with a settled back 4 with Bruno and Eriksen all season.
Looks like PSG might be looking to offload him after they paid £52m for him last year as they have a lot of options in that position. If that true we could try and get a deal around £45m but I wouldn’t want to pay more than £50m.
Why should we pay 50 for a player they bought for 52 and are looking to offload?
Throw sancho in with the deal
Just seen that he is available for loan, that would be good business imo
Its psg you cant apply logic to what they do with money. 60 is chump change for them
I swear Ste said Branthwaithe would be a great signing 🤣
I think he's great if he's 40 mil
I see it as unrealistic but United fans would love him, he’s a beast and definitely good enough. Not even a question compared to who we have right now.
Plenty of players have “failed” at big clubs and been sold when they’re young. De Bruyne and salah are the obvious ones. He’s exactly the type of player we need.
Unrealistic? Why??
@@KailamiMwiinga just because he only signed a year ago and PSG have enough money not to sell at a loss for a young prospect. Hope I’m wrong though.
Swap deal Ugarte for Casemiro plus cash ??
If we buy ugarte psg will take that money and buy neves. We need to just bite the bullet and pay what benfica want for neves he is that good in my opinion
40m max for ugarte. We need to get rid of players first so could be a nervy ending to the transfer window
That’s the whole point
We don’t have players who are quality quality
Cant let Mason Greenwood go
You aint getting that kinda talent easily
If PSG sell us ugarte what odds you reckon that PSG will use the money to get Neves. It’s as if Utd are enablers!
Is this England or a pub team I can’t cheer these on at all feel like I’m cheating
Psg manager does rate him but if he sells this guy they will buy neves with the money
Only on youtube they have not in real life
Schlotterback and Robert andrich should be bought
United should stop pissing about and offer PSG 70M euros. That's about how much they hope benfica will accept for Neves which is ludicrous. United can cozy up to mended all they like that's never going to happen. We need a CDM go get him.
vitinha plays more than ugarte. why not try to invest in a portuguese player.
Are PSG gonna sign that Benfica lad so Utd made a bid on this lad cos the lad from Benfica plays in his position at PSG 😅🤣
Joes question about how many world class players do you need is interesting because if I look at the Arsenal team.. how many players I’d actually swap there’s for ours when they’re actually fit.
Only players I’d take
Saliba
Rice
You wouldn't take Saka over Antony???
Talking about the title when we finished 8th, lost a CB and striker and have the transfer budget of a half of a Declan Rice 🥴🤣🤣Bottom half finish
Bloody hell..I bet you're fun at parties
Brandhwaithe... another declining maguire in the making.
The first signing United should be focusing on his buying Jaoa Neves
Bruno, Mainoo and Neves would not work
Why? He is untested in the Premier League, he is short alongside Mainoo which is a weakness that could be exploited, he is not necessarily a number 6 but more a number 8, he will command upto £90m and we have a squad rebuild to do with a limit on finances. Is your second name Glazer because you seem hell bent on perpetuating the mistakes of the last 10 years.
UTD are NOT paying £100m for any player in the next 3 seasons at least. Finances of the club are in the gutter. thanks to the KLINGONS x6 (glazers).
@@gamerbeans7445 Well said!
Not Gonna get him for less than 60M so its a non starter
Rumour of a loan with option to buy now. Weird how our fanbase constantly talks up massive bids and fees that are never mentioned. Who needs enemies huh?
@@martincaldwell6148 if we can pull that off it would be a great bit of business. The lad seems like an elite destroyer, decent carrier and good passer. Was very highly rated and just didn't click with psg.
@@martincaldwell6148honestly I wouldn’t be against this. His wage is £100k a week (which I assume PSG would want us to cover). My only issue is any optional fee is either going to be huge (like £60mill - £90mill) OR, in case we weren’t to activate that clause at the end of a season, PSG are going to want a loan fee (which is money taken away from other signings)
I think we can get him for for £40m 👌👌💯
We a going to be screwed this summer, again
I don't think we are. I think we won't get the players we want because we will not just pay any old fee. We need to send a message to the other clubs and playing hard ball will cost us transfers short term but benifit long term.
It's a plan to swap Marcus Rarshford with him😂. It might be funny but that is actually the real plan🤷. Just a fact
How I wish it could be true 😂
