If you have a wall switch to turn the fireplace on or off, could you just replace that wall switch with Smart switch. Because right now, if you turn your wall switch off, you could not use the smart plug anyway.
@@mgpauly6888 mine still works even if the switch is off. Depends how it was wired. In my research of setting one up myself, everything I found said a wall switch would not work. Had to do with something on neutral wires and the way the fireplace is triggered to turn on. I should try it though.

@@kZod I use Home Assistant for a lot of my automations. You could do “when” fireplace is on for 20 minutes, “then” turn off fireplace.
Just buy a smart switch on the wall to replace the one gain pole switch, $16
