    I'm not a Zumba instructor but I've been enjoying it for over 10 years. It is my favorite part of the week. I just want to say that Zumba can be extremely therapeutic if you are going through an emotionally stressful time. It's a full hour of joy when you can let go of your concerns.

    The greatest Zumba video I've ever seen. THANKS! There are many teachers in Gym Club teaching Zumba even without a B1 qualification in China, so it's a little difficult to learn standard Zumba steps unless we have to take the official Zumba B1 training in some specific cities, and the price is a little expensive for almost Chinese people.

    I just got my B1 Zumba instructor training certification, and now I’m lost, lol. It’s definitely going to be a challenge trying to market myself. I just realized that I think I’m more comfortable being a Kids Zumba instructor, so I’ll sign up for that training next.

    Very helpful!! I’m not an instructor yet, but I’m planning to get by B1 next month and your tips absolutely line up with my favorite Zumba instructors. Ones who arrive early, greet and mingle with the class, bring a positive energy and lots of smiles, and cue consistently and clearly are 👌🏼

    How long did it take you to memorize a full hour class when you first started teaching?

    • @MinieMinarelli
      @MinieMinarelli  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I reckon it took me the longest time, lol! Maybe 2-3 months? It also depends on the difficulty of the choreographies (I had to swap a couple as I just couldn't memorise them!), and how much time you can dedicate to practicing them. Are you a new instructor preparing your first playlist?

    It is like India Yoga. Many people can be the instructor in this world but India Guru are the best. So Brazilian Zin Zumba are the best for this case

    • @MinieMinarelli
      @MinieMinarelli  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hahaha! I am happy that you found good Brazilian instructors in your area, but saying that Brazilian ZINs are the best is your opinion, based on your personal experience. Not a fact, sorry. It is also quite ironic, because Beto Perez, the creator of Zumba, is Colombian. Zumba was not born in Brazil at all and it's core rhythms (salsa, merengue, reggaeton, cumbia) are not Latin rhythms from Brazil. Sorry, my friend.

    Hi Minie! I'm 59, not physically fit, overweight, never done zumba, but I purchased the zumba instructor training and want to teach it.😱🤯😂 why? Inspired by watching instructors online and recently lost a little weight, got my pre diabetes under control (my mom died of it so grateful to have done that) generally feeling positive about the changes I've made so far and would love to help others my age to maybe feel the same and that it's never too late! Am I being naive in wanting to pursue this? Also concerned about being judged and or lack of interest due to my weight. I love the latin beat, zumba moves and I think I can make it fun! Thoughts?

      Welcome to the Zumba tribe!
      1. Try to find out where other Zumba instructors ar teaching, in your area (gyms, community centres...).
      2. Get in contact with them, try their classes and once you find an instructor you really like and connect with, try to see if they would be available to mentor you, and/or let you teach one or 2 songs during their classes
      3. Once you have your first playlist ready, let them know you are available to cover their classes when they need a cover.
      4. Contact other gyms and see if they are interested in starting Zumba classes and/or keep you in mind if they ever need someone for covers.
      5. Be patient...it won't happen overnight but if you stay active in the Zumba community around you, eventually you'll get your chance to shine!
      Good luck!

    I felt attacked. 😆 I've been an instructor for about a year. I do a core exercise on the floor in my warmup for 16 counts, have a song were we do shuffle moves, I'm a dancer and also teach hiphop / street dance for kids. Ouch 😅 But I'm still learning theres noting wrong with that.

    • @MinieMinarelli
      @MinieMinarelli  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome to the ZIN community! 😊
      It's great that you also teach other formats, I'm sure you're very talented! And I can tell from your comment that you have good self-irony and you keep always improving yourself! 👏👏
      That's why I'll challenge you: are you sure doing floor exercises is part of Zumba? Wouldn't it be a good option to stick to Zumba when you teach Zumba, and then be as free as you want when you teach the other classes? 😉

    Is it normal to have 4 songs back to back for squatting. There are some songs with profanity at the gym, is that allowed. Mothers--f-. Bi--h, etc etc. Not clear why it’s allowed? Should I say something ?

    • @MinieMinarelli
      @MinieMinarelli  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to alternate very different songs so that the moves are also very different; but I don't know the instructor nor the context you are referring to: it might be that the instructor just loves those moves, or that the class asked for an extra focus on some muscles, to get back in shape for summer (in spring some of my participants always ask for more work on the arms to get ready for T-shirts and swimwear).
      In regards to the swearing, normally gyms ask to refrain from using very explicit songs with coarse language; but so many reggaeton and hip hop songs have swear words so sometimes it's tricky. Also, some instructors might not even listen to the lyrics (me included! LOL!!).
      My advice? Talk about your concerns and doubts with your instructor! They might not be aware that these things bother you!

      Hi Anna! Just let the instructor know, I'm sure you can figure out something together! Depending on the preference of the instructor (or the gym's policies and procedures), you could either stop before the end of the full hour, or have a rest during the high intensity songs...just communicate with the instructor and good luck!
