I feel like celebs can’t win. If they dress too fancy then ppl will call them unrealistic but if they dress normally then they’re boring and not fun. No one dresses up everyday in expensive outfits that are uncomfortable and hard to wear outdoors
I don't think it's about unrealistic vs normally. Most of them have no creativity or unique intent.

Honestly, it's more aimed at vogue. I personally don't have a problem with models or actors not having a particularly good style, after all they are not designers or stylists, but vogue keeps pushing their very very obvious looks as something that should be taken note of, when in reality, it's outfits that are either straight up bad, or like something any of us would wear, looking slightly better on a flawless looking person, but that's it.

I kinda love how her whole 7 looks is very accessible. Maybe it’s because I love staples and layers, but I like seeing her put together the looks for inspo!
Staples and layers are so important to a sustainable wardrobe. My dream wardrobe are several pieces that I can mix and match regularly, and still sell/trade in to make room for a new wardrobe. So something that wears well and retains value. I feel like that translates on levels- average to avante garde.

Accessible can mean easy to get to. 900 dollar jeans arent that, she could of been in an interesting unique piece for that much money. Not "construction worker" otufits.. This is not a criticism aimed at her, and I'm glad these people are being honest with their outfits and not putting up a front, but how many videos does Vogue think we need of classically beautiful thin girls who dress in very simple outfits? I wish they'd mix it up more.
I do wish they’d mix it up but I think it also just has to do with slim pickings. The most famous models are usually vs angels and vs focused on classically beautiful thin people. They want views and they get that by finding the most famous people.

well she is actually considered a plus sized model and she talks about it a little bit in the dress part where she says being curvy wasn’t acceptable so she used to hide her body and not wear tight clothes and now that it’s become the norm she’s been able to show off her curves and body.
I thought Barbie Ferreira & Winnie Harlow’s which we released after hers were more interesting fashion wise. I liked Barbie giving outfit choices as a plus size woman & Winnie had more variety in her looks as well.

I would say its more like a Central European / Eastern European thing. In Slovakia its the same, you only dress up for special occasions or if you have some important official work/meeting. Although there are some interesting fashion brands, only a few people really know about them, because locals dont really care about fashion and/or they cant really afford more highclass clothes

I think this was a great little video. She showcased looks that can easily be obtained by anyway on any budget. Im a slave to an expensive bag or maybe a really high quality jean but Im also fine rolling out in an amazon button down from the mens section...or a thrifted blazer for 2.99 at goodwill. This was a great lookbook just showing up what pieces can look really good together and that its really about the fit not the brand or price tag!
I saw her in real life walking in Budapest about 5 years ago. Didn't know who she was at the time, just saw a tall girl walking towards me. She wasn't alone, of course, but I remember her eyes were... incredible. Big, day-glow, almost inhumanly beautiful eyes. I thought she must be a model or something, so I Googled Hungarian models and, what do you know, there she was! Good lord, she is stunning in real life, no kidding.

I'm a Hungarian, and you probably would see an outfit like hers in smaller villages, not in cities, or if you would go unannounced to somebody's home. Most of the people on the streets actually wear skinny jeans, or stuff like that. This oversized, tomboy style is not that popular anymore. When I saw her Hungarian look, I thought, that I didn't see people wearing that style out in the open for like a decade at least.
She explained that she grew up in a small town. In the east of Budapest or something like that. I don't remember very well. I think her style is because of that.

VS never said that. The rumor started it because a Facebook "body positivity" group said that she was VS's plus size model because she was not as thin as the rest. But VS never confirmed it and people assumed that the group was right without any proof to back it up.

7:34 - Yeah, in Hungary you're definitely going to keep things simple and not stand out too much with vibrant, flashy coloured clothing (unless if you're in some of the boujier areas of Budapest*); neutral-earth tones (black, beige, brown & some green perhaps), as well as knits (probably made by our grandmothers) and proper suit trousers, skirts, maybe denim here & there are more like it.
This is just a general observation, obviously younger people experiment more with their looks, like anywhere else - but as far as fearlessly dressing up the way people in the West do is mostly reserved for very special occasions in Hungary; I personally like that about us - nothing too pretentious or attention grabbing for the everydays - more down to earth & cosy.
*Right, anywhere near the V. district of Budapest/Andrássy avenue, you're bound to see more extravagant styles and people wearing wacky stuff, but I'd stay it's still not as wild as the scene in some other European capital cities.
In my opinion experimenting with style is a luxury that not many Hungarian people cant afford. I would love to dress like a cottagecore fairy princess but instead I worry about the price of basic groceries lol 😂

I am not hungarian, I'm romanian (I am going to assume it's somewhat similar there) and you don't really want to stand out in Eastern Europe. Not only people will judge you (A LOT) but you might also get into trouble if you are in more dangerous neighborhoods/towns, especially someone who famous with clearly a lot of money.
Her outfit was still cute, just with neutral colors.
Love how easy going most of her looks are, seems like she likes key items and incorporates them in almost every look. I just love to dress nicely and how I'm most comfortable ( while looking good, and feeling good) st the same time.

Yes, but those are easier clothing pieces to find dupes for than most of the 7 days, 7 looks videos. I have a lot of pieces thrifted or hand me downs that are similar to some of the items she chose.

She seems lovely but I kinda lowkey hated every outfit! 😅 There’s definitely pieces I’d wear but for the most they were the parts that weren’t couture, like the pants from Hungary and her grandmother’s cardigan. I guess that’s a compliment really. She definitely suits the 70s/80s aesthetic so go off.

I feel like I saw only 3 outfits...baggy/unconventional suit, croptop-pants-jacket-boots, and the cutout dress which was actually memorable. No shade to her, she wears everything really well and is smart to use layering. It just wasn't that interesting to me, I can't imagine sticking to such specific styles all the time and my wardrobe isn't even that adventurous.
I like Barbara but it was a very neutral wardrobe. Bit like Rosie’s 7 days, the items where nice but forgettable.

Ooooh Luke you have Australian fashion so wrong. We cover up in summer so we don't get skin cancer & rug up over winter. Melbourne (the style & cutural capital) has very cold winters like NY (we don't get snow in the metropolitan areas thank god)

That may be true for you, but I would say for the majority of Australia people don’t cover up in the summer at all. You would die of heat stroke. Australia is, everywhere I’ve lived anyway (and I travel around a lot), super relaxed fashion-wise. Idk how you last in the summer when you’re covering up 😂

Looks are VERY familiar as I always wear dark pants/jeans, black boots, dark jacket. Since our quarantine (recovering chocolate and ice cream addict here) no cropped tops, no torso slits. So yes I would expect a model to have more interesting looks, but after glancing through my closet, I feel that my opinion is waaaaay too compromised. However, I appreciate Luke's very diplomatic tone when discussing pieces (mine are vintage/recycled) that currently hang in my closet.😉
