i feel like this is a case of "is it fashion or is she just skinny" like the looks are by no means bad but they're so simple and wouldn't be getting the same praise if they were featured on a shorter, thicker body

i think the "skinny" part adds to the aesthetic? like it wouldn't look good on more petite and heavyset body types because it was designed to look good on skinny girls! i also think the styles of girls with curvy body types and whatnot wouldn't look good as well for her body type so i guess the shape of your body really just is another component that adds to the overall aesthetic!

Australian here - Ugg’s are part of surf culture because we surf in winter here so people needed something to keep their feet warm while in their wetsuits :) it doesn’t actually have anything to do with our indigenous Australians as sheep shearing became a big industry post colonisation. Would love to see a deep dive on this or even any big Australian labels/brands.
Good suggestion regarding spotlighting Aussie brands and a deep dive into indigenous fashion. My Aussie hubby can’t understand why we America’s have elevated Ugg’s. He laughs at us because he said they were “$20 bogan shoes”. As a “Houso’s” fan....No shade on “bogans”
I remember reading some really interesting stuff about how local businesses were shut down for making knockoff Uggs when they'd actually been making them for longer than Ugg had existed as a brand. They were something people would make and sell themselves and didn't have a brand affiliated with them, until Ugg the company was created and trademarked them despite not creating the concept itself. Although not an inherently indigenous thing, they're definitely something that was stolen from local people for profit. It would be like if someone trademarked lemonade as a concept and sued everyone who made it at home. Really messed up stuff.

She’s one of my favorite models, very focused and humble at her job, she understands her position and privilege. I actually love her style, very casual and it does show personality, it is simple and not that exciting but as she said “less is more” and I appreciate her not putting to much into it.

I think it depends. I feel the same way about blue and purple outfits. It depends on the outfit, whose wearing it, and just the overall silhouette. For example, a black leather pants with a brown shirt tho? A huge no for me, I'm sorry.

Oh, that definitely sounds better! Especially if It's paired with some high heels and/or MAYBE a white sneaker, but I definitely will have to look at some videos to get a better visuals at how someone would style a look like that though.

I just feel like these Vogue videos are getting more and more fake and kind of a shady ad, because they don’t make it clear that it’s an ad. These clothes are not what they actually wear but brands that they are sponsored by or that had ads in Vogue (like Luke mentioned in the last video). The Haim one seems more real because they had vintage and personal clothes. The beauty secrets are also becoming just ads because they started with celebrities talking about their routine and not mentioning brands and now they have celebrities that are brand ambassadors and wear like a full face of one brand. The Olivia Rodrigo at least was clear that was an ad for Glossier.

i always saw tortoiseshell as looking good with brown hair, and a lot softer and less graphic than a black frame. i never thought of matching it to my outfit because it feels like a neutral.

I love her outfits (even the brown print ruffle top). I live in them (well recycled/thrifted versions). I also live in my black boots. Kaia Gerber's attitude comes through as so honest and unaffected. Major kudos to her parents and teachers for producing a relatable, funny and intelligent person.

15:45 this is so very true! Prior to me working as a luxury mall concierge, I was obsessed with fashion and couture because it was like so unattainable for me (still is), that I thought I was never going to be close enough to it; after working there and photographing so many of my favorite things and holding expensive jewelry it became normal. I like kaia and she’s actually one of the offsprings of nepotism I can stand but let’s face it. All those outfits look good and are considered fashionable because she thin. I kinda loved this, probably cause it looks almost identical to my wardrobe lol. This and Haim were my favourites so far. I have so many quirky clothes but for some reason always end up wearing the neutral basics.
Thank you Luke for another great video! My favourite look was the first one with the long jacket because of my age (59) I find it wearable. It can easily be jazzed-up with a scarf or interesting necklace. The other looks are a little too plain for my taste but look confortable. Also, I really love the boots, they elevate an outfit in a chic simple way without killing your feet!

These uggs that are now mass-produced in America have completely ruined the integrity and workmanship of an actual UGG boot made in Aus with merino sheep wool. Surfers would wear these when they get out of the water because surfing conditions are way better in winter here; so it's cold, hence, wanting to wear something snug straight out of the water
and tbh not sure if it has indigenous relations to Australia, bc Aus is typically warmer and the ugg was invented in the 70's xx
