Not sure why Bindi gets so much hate. I mean she's just an excitable kid, why is that such a bad thing? Sure she's a bit precocious but unlike a lot of children of famous parents she's actually throwing herself into worthwhile work. Thought she took Simon's playful jabs very well too where others have been torn to pieces by him.
I think everyone came out of this perfectly fine. Bindi is enthusiastic and certainly sincere, Rollins is quiet but probably just listening mostly, and Simon is witty.
I would love the un-edited version of this, start to finish. This is easily one of the best moments in Australian television. I would pay good money to see Bindi Irwin and Rollins in the same room again.
I really wish you'd just uploaded the whole clip rather than inserting your assertions throughout and ruining the flow. People can surely make their own decisions about the atmosphere of a conversation. If you want to place your opinions over the top of stuff, make some riff tracks and upload them to a torrent site so they are clearly labelled and everyone can avoid them.
Cynicism is important because it means we question what the world presents us with but without passion and enthusiasm nothing would ever get done! I don't really think there is anything wrong with 'being confident and being a bit strong personality wise.' ...There's arrogance....and then there's confidence.
Amstell may be performing somewhat different material to what Buzzcock's fans might've originally expected, but you still don't put him on stage with what one might consider 'vapid celebrities'. The only reason his comedy now is self-effacing is because he's on stage alone with no-one to turn that incisive, perceptive wit on. Whilst I do enjoy Amstell's stand up work and think he is innovational in the field, it is lovely to see a glimmer of the Simon we first came to love. And my, didn't he tickle Adam Hills!
I really like Simon Amstell's comedy, but I think Bindi Irwin comes across as a really likeable young woman. I have never seen her before, and yes, I do sometimes find overtly confident or bubbly people a bit much at times - but what's the alternative - brooding self doubt, crippling shyness and an inability to express or articulate? I have worked with teenagers for several years and when I come across enthusiastic ones like her it's a joy!
Henry and Simon...in one room? My ladyboner knows no bounds. Henry's face throughout the video is too funny, he's clenching. Simon's just doing what he usually seems to do in awkward situations, say whatever's on his mind and be a badass.
I was at the taping of this show. Count yourselves lucky that you only had to listen to 1-2 minutes of Bindi's incessant drivel rather than 20 minutes. Simon's interruptions and the look on Hannah Gadsby's face was all that got me through that interview.
True, however it's been well documented that Henry Rollins was one of Kurt Cobains' largest influences. Google it. He had to send Courtney to address Henry. He couldn't do it himself.
They are all just different people....you cant expect them all to act or behave the same. Bindi is young and hasn't yet developed that cynical tired judgemental adult verbal filter yet, which is kinda nice - I remember being that way too at that age and hang on to it as long as you can to stay young!
I came for some Amstell and got some Rollins, yes indeed Bindi, 18 everything goes in the Vaults. awkward is a thick sugar coat, the only thing that could have normalized this is to have Adam play spin the prosthesis...
Gromit Pesley Rollins has very intense social anxiety, so I imagine someone he doesn't know acting so flamboyantly would make him feel uncomfortable. He isn't disliking to seem cool, he's genuinely scared.
Bindi's not used to the spotlight and feels as much passion for her father as she does for the animals. Wonder if she ever thinks to herself "one of you bastards killed my dad." Rollins and the other female seated at front are like two opposing magnets.
Is there any footage of just Henry and Simon? I'd imagine they get along quite well together its shame about the young woman who is somewhat insufferable.
That poor girl, Her parents have did this to her, Thankfully Simon was there to say what everyone was thinking, I just hope she can see that it's irritating and drop the act her parents have written her.
Henry's brain whispering into his own head: "Keep Calm, Keep Calm, Black Flag, Black Flag, Keep Calm, Keep Calm... Hold It... Hold It..."... I can tell you... there was the chance he might stand up all in a sudden, grab a mic and call out screaming the old band for a reunion {finally!} to immediately work on the brand new material! Just a possible variation... he started making a mental list of the farest Countries of the planet for a rollacoster to the other side of the world!
interesting critique but i do believe you are projecting what Henry might be feeling unless you are actually him, but i have to say Simon was by far "the sun" of this show,
Thank god Simon was there to bring everything back down to earth lol

You're right, all hate should actually be directed at her mother.
Or , you know, we could just try not hating people for something that is annoying and not worthy of any sort of hate.
evenflow1981
Why?
Exactly. Great kid
Henry looks like he's having a surprise colonoscopy
I think everyone came out of this perfectly fine. Bindi is enthusiastic and certainly sincere, Rollins is quiet but probably just listening mostly, and Simon is witty.
Did you watch the same video

I imagine Rollins is sitting there, when "Disconnect" is playing in his head.

Blisslessly Aware Henry Rollins is not a vapid celebrity
Simon Amstell cracked Adam Hills up
This is one of my favourite videos on the internet.
Rollins and Amstell. A dream duo.
If you know Simon, this is torture for him
I really like Simon Amstell's comedy, but I think Bindi Irwin comes across as a really likeable young woman. Adam Hills is trying so hard not to lose it, Simon is brilliant in this and Henry is well Henry :P
i wish i could hear what was goin on in rollins mind in this.
That WAS gold!
"...I haven't seen it."
That reminds me a house party that i walked off few years ago
The curse of ween. You go after them you end up a panel show guest
I just want to hug Simon after watching this. Simon. Never leave television. Neverrrrrrrr.
"an interesting dynamic" hahah that's a nice way to put it
Henry and Simon...in one room? My ladyboner knows no bounds.
Henry's face throughout the video is too funny, he's clenching. Simon's just doing what he usually seems to do in awkward situations, say whatever's on his mind and be a badass.
painful
Haha, Henry rollins how did a man like you find yourself on a programme like this
Is that Hannah Gadsby sitting behind Simon Amstell?!
Sruti Agarwal, yep 👍.
Looking for the full clip without any editing

Upload the full clip please
Henry Rollins voiced Zaheer.
He's doing just fine.
Let go your earthly tether.
Can someone please put up the entire thing? I don't seem to be able to watch it anywhere and I'd like to see the entire show.
Rollins and Amstell isn't a combo I thought I'd see
Excellent comment, exactly what I was thinking!
ANYONE KNOWS THE TITLE OF THE SHOW?
This is so fucking awkward. Poor Henry.
whats the song in the intro to the video sounds like a different version of "the fall - van plague"
Gromit Pesley Shazam it.
its to short to shazam. It might be something by the monks- monk time. This is bugging me
I was about to hate on those females, but I remembered Steve Irwin. That guy was awesome. RIP Steve
Simon is the show's hero =) he kinda was able to save it ... at least to a degree xD
Funniest bit 3:50 - 4:10 ! Hahhahah love it !
Is this an episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks cause I forgot how badly the show needed him until I watched this.
loved the uploaders comments
3:32 - his face
True, however it's been well documented that Henry Rollins was one of Kurt Cobains' largest influences. Google it. He had to send Courtney to address Henry. He couldn't do it himself.
Who's the weirdo at the end chipping in with the slippers on
I don't know what's going on but it's so painful to watch. I had to keep pausing it and encouraging myself to press play again.
Is that Hannah Gadsby in the background??
They are all just different people....you cant expect them all to act or behave the same. Bindi is young and hasn't yet developed that cynical tired judgemental adult verbal filter yet, which is kinda nice - I remember being that way too at that age and hang on to it as long as you can to stay young!
Stop with the fucking advisory notes. We can all see and hear.
I'm deaf
What?
*HE'S DEAF*
WHAT!!!! Pmsl
Holy shit. Thank you based Simon.
I came for some Amstell and got some Rollins, yes indeed Bindi, 18 everything goes in the Vaults. awkward is a thick sugar coat, the only thing that could have normalized this is to have Adam play spin the prosthesis...
this was downright Dali-esque Sur-ReaL....
Count me in
she is only a little girl, he was so mean to her.
If this were six years ago, she aged eight and right after her father's death, maybe it'd be more understandable or tolerable, but come on people.
Possibly one of the greatest moments in Australian TV for some time... are the producers idiots or geniuses?
this was very funny.
what's the Show called?
only if there's cake
Great stuff - lucky Rollins has mellowed these days.
i think simon and henry actually complete eachother i a weird ying yang sort of way
but there are 5 of them....
In other words, in this society, being ‘grown-up’ means being world-weary. What a sad level of ambition.
i'm doing that right now
whats this show called? thanks
poor, poor Henry (
Yeah, poor Henry. He agreed to go on a show he obviously has nothing in common with and dislikes to seem cool. Loser. Poor guy though.
Gromit Pesley Rollins has very intense social anxiety, so I imagine someone he doesn't know acting so flamboyantly would make him feel uncomfortable. He isn't disliking to seem cool, he's genuinely scared.
i just figured out Simon's sense of humour. He wants everyone else to feel as awkward as he feels all the time.
adam hills live on gordon st
Bindi's not used to the spotlight and feels as much passion for her father as she does for the animals. Wonder if she ever thinks to herself "one of you bastards killed my dad." Rollins and the other female seated at front are like two opposing magnets.
So, what's up with the selfie crew man?
We gonna do this shit or wha
2.52 Look at Simon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, how long have you known Rollins, you lucky bastard!?
you know what would have improved this? if you'd left it alone
can't blame bindi. what I don't understand is why they were all being interviewed together? how did that even come about?!
Is there any footage of just Henry and Simon? I'd imagine they get along quite well together its shame about the young woman who is somewhat insufferable.
u mean henry rollins?
i suppose i do. is it bad that i dont know who that is?
I would have loved to have seen Henry Rollins on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Just once. It would be so odd.
Henry looks scared. Poor guy
Watch videos of Henry Rollins, he is one of the most inspirational people I have ever seen
I dont know why henry would still be sitting there.
Bindi is very young and a product of her environment/upbringing. Give the girl a break!
maybe apart FROM it
I feel really awkward and have a hard time watching this video...
Did anyone else find themselves pausing every few seconds?
Henry dye your hair like McJagger, you look like Shinead Oconner
That poor girl, Her parents have did this to her, Thankfully Simon was there to say what everyone was thinking, I just hope she can see that it's irritating and drop the act her parents have written her.
i've been in those situations where you're bored shitless, trying to be polite but you want to scream...
O wait dats Adam Hills aye
Henry need money
i think all the critism has more to do with the mother, listen to Simon, his insights probably nailed all of it
bowl cut at 4:26
Do you want to be apart of my selfie crew?
Yeah exactly, and besides, just because she's like this on camera doesn't mean she is all the time. It's television after all.
Wow, so. ..there's no Henry Rollins over there.
interesting critique but i do believe you are projecting what Henry might be feeling unless you are actually him, but i have to say Simon was by far "the sun" of this show,
lol
Binding is super weird
She's pretty
Well, I know who Simon Amstell is....
Ok thats a completely random comment. But yes, I already knew that
What is life
