    Wow so far I've seen 4 reviews of this SE Hollowbody II Piezo, and this channel showed the acoustic piezo sound the best

      For sure! When I watch demos of piezo-equipped electrics, I never expect a Taylor 900 Series kind of sound; I just want to see how close the guitar can get to a decent acoustic. And this thing sounds far better than a decent acoustic. I would LOVE to have a piezo that good on my go-to guitar, which is exactly the point of the Hollowbody II's.

      Part of it is a lot of those idiots don't strum/pick at the right place of the neck for different purposes.

    Thank You for the great demo of this guitar.
    Seriously, not too much talking and not all shredding with heavy distortion, this demo should be the future template for all guitar reviews.
    And then there's Jack's playing, so wonderful in it's own, Thank You.

    I'm not a good enough player yet to do justice to one of these but anyhoo picked mine up yesterday....
    Scott said it would make me a 20% better player (banter) Obvs doesn't do that, but it makes the shit I play sound 50% better. I think it's a fantastic instrument.
    (Also - and I appreciate this is incidental - if you live with a noise sensitive family, I think it has enough life in it acoustically to practice unplugged and still sound nice, but v. quiet)

    Nice demo. I bought one of the first of these to hit my town. I feel it really excels at jazz tones and light overdrive sounds. The piezo is an excellent option, as well. I’ve owned a n early Core Hollowbody I for years and feel this keeps up well, but I think the new version would benefit from the early McArty Archtop pickups, if I can find some.

    If it's a 22 fret, and doesn't have a tremolo. It can't be a versatile guitar. On the contrary, it's the most gorgeous PRS ever!

    The jack wiring was discussed, but I have what's probably a noob question - if you're plugged into the magnetic-only jack, does that mean that the mix/piezo jack becomes piezo-only? That would seem to be the logical assumption, but I'd like to know for sure.

      Yes. In the PRS chanel they released a video about this guitar and they answer that saying that you can use one output jack with the mix of both sistems (as it is said in this video), but if you use the 2 output jacks the signal is splited and you can have a electric Guitar signal independent of an acustic guitar signal.

      I used to have a USA HB2 and a P22 and they would only sound good with the piezo running into a PA direct or acoustic amp, which is whats going on here, the piezo into a guitar amp isn’t worth buying this for, but great fun for stereo effects, looping etc

      Looking at all those instruments as well as listening to his great playing (and hair as Nils X so kindly mentioned) I believe you'd be fine picking either. Having the skill Jack has would be wonderful, however all those nice guitars could easily offset any lacking of talent as far as "feeling good about one's self"!

    • @homeslice1479
      @homeslice1479 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I disagree. They're made in arguably the best low-cost Asian factory in South Korea and it's full of great features you don't typically see on all imports, such as pickups that don't need to be swapped, neck and body binding, quality F-hole work, an LL Bragg piezo, properly dressed frets (demonstrated in another video), ect. Don't sit so high and mighty on your American throne that you refuse to accept that an imported guitar can be worth over a grand. This isn't a normal SE.

      It's about 1/3 the cost of the core model and about 1/2 the cost of the low end Gibson 335. SE is also no longer the low cost division of PRS. That goes to SE Standard.

      @Hulk Hogan You’re right about that, but built by Cor-Tek (aka Cort), which is a Korean company. They are impeccably made, no slop in the QA, and sound beautiful.
