I just bought the two bike rack for my Pontiac Vibe and it fits on the hatch as if it were designed for it (although the 15 7/8" measurment that they gave me for the Vibe was much shorter than I thought practical. I think I'm at around 22- 24"). I bought a wooden dowel in case I have any trouble keeping the hatch open with the rack attached. I noticed a bit of an edit when you were trying to snap the rubber chain in place. Those straps are why I decided to search TH-cam for reviews. It was just under 40F in MN as I was trying to get the straps over the pegs and I gave up because I thought I was going to wreck the peg. I'm hoping it will be easier when it's 60F and I've done it a few times, but I may carry some winter hand warmers to activate and wrap around the strap when I try to do some early spring riding here. I thought I might be doing it wrong until I watched you wailing away on them.🙂 Edit: I used a little daub of hand lotion on the pegs and the straps slid on without much of a struggle. It's good to know that they're not going to come undone if they get jostled. Despite the gripes about the stiff straps, I like the shape, materials and weight of this rack a lot. It's extremely compact when not in use and I'm really happy that you showed the trick about folding the bars down when the bikes aren't on it.
Yakima doesn't recommend using the back hatch or trunk with the bike rack installed. The straps that secure the bikes to the rack can be pretty stiff when they're new but they will get more pliable over time. www.etrailer.com/Trunk-Bike-Racks/Yakima/Y02637.html
I just got this and I need help figuring out the top anchor strap when I own a hatchback (2016 scion TC). I just can't understand what the instructions are asking me to do since the anchor isn't supposed to rest against the glass.
I want this person to explain how to do everything. Very thorough.

If it can hold two 30lb bikes, then can it hold one 50lb bike
I think she mentioned that the limit is still 30 lbs even with only one bike.
