If the United States were to confiscate ALL of the wealth from the 10 wealthiest people in America, we’d only have about 700 billion dollars. So where is the “extra trillion” she is talking about? And what if (I know people say it won’t happen, but...) the wealthiest people choose to live elsewhere. We’d suddenly have a system that NEEDS the super wealthy. We should incentive companies and the super wealthy to create (or contribute to) the things she wants. It would be better than this wealth tax imo. The average citizens just have a disdain for wealthy people... like a Robinhood complex.

It’s not 2% of your income or increase, it’s 2% of your net worth every year. That is a lot. The same wealth is taxed again every year. And the rates are higher for billionaires so within a few years a lot of them will be millionaires.

She taught for one year before resigning. I wouldn’t count her special ed experience for much.
SPED is my profession. Elizabeth Warren did what many people still do: take advantage of the provisional license loophole to teach SPED kids and get teacher pay without being certified or educated in SPED. This exploitation of public trust and taxpayer money is evidenced by the fact that she did not enroll in SPED courses at a college while teaching with a provisional license; showing her intent to not complete any licensure requirements, and milk the system at the detriment of her students. This practice is insulting to professionals, students, and Teacher Assistants who make half as much, work twice as hard, and refuse to "just wing it" and get a paycheck. If she truly advocated for SPED kids, she would have to at least have some education on how to do that, which is impossible to learn in one year with no college SPED classes

I LOVE Warren, she would have been an AMAZING president, but I believe the reason Bernie isn't entirely relying on taxing the rich to fund his medicare for all is that such a plan isn't sustainable in the long run if our goal is to redistribute wealth and get rid of billionaires and the super rich, rather than relying on their existence to hold up society (which Warren's plan seems to do, although great on a short term basis). Even though Warren and Sanders have had some conflicts, they still are close, and I still dream of a Sanders/Warren ticket!

Fun fact. The particular procedure Bernie underwent is well known for drastically improving people's energy levels and overall wellbeing. The health problems that were dealt with recently were it being noticed he'd previously been functioning with a handicap, and now he's had treatment he can go 100%

Warren's plan only provides total student debt forgiveness up to a salary cap. Bernie's total student debt forgiveness is unconditional, which would help lower healthcare costs because doctors could afford to charge lower prices since they would no longer need to pay back medical school loans.
