    💕I just made these for my family and they are absolutely DELICIOUS!! Don't forget to add the 2 tablespoons of sugar to the flour because it definitely makes a difference. 💕

    Looks delicious. And you got those layers easily. I have had to roll and fold the dough several times to get that effect. This is much easier. I must try. Thank you.

    I’ve read that the reason a biscuit cutter works better than a can or glass, is because the latter has dull edges & mashes the sides of the dough down, keeping it from rising evenly. The biscuit cutter’s edges are sharp & goes thru the dough easily. I think it’s true, but I have trouble getting my biscuits to rise more than 1/2”. They taste great & come out light & fluffy but I can’t get them nice & tall like my grandmother’s were!

      That only happens if you twist the glass

    Thank you for this! I have to eat gluten free and have a recipe that calls for doing the butter like this. I never would have imagined the dough was ready/workable when you put it on your board, so I appreciate that tip! These look amazing...and also...I have that same robe! :)

    This is the exact way I make my biscuits. I add 1egg beaten and a little organic raw honey to mixture. The biscuits are very fluffy and delicious. Never tried brushing buttermilk on top to help brown the biscuits. Gotta try it. I like more of a thinner biscuit. Your biscuits look Yummy.

    A sensible process for making biscuits...well done. I must have watched 20 y-tube videos, most people overwork the dough, so called 'adding layers' which turns the things into hockey pucks.

      Use gloves, but when the butter is frozen less chance of melting. When done pop the shredded butter back in the fridge for a few minutes.

    A small cup with butter in the microwave for 30 seconds and you can brush the tops evenly when they come out of the oven. Looks like Costco or Sams Club butter. Not much salt in either. I've used that too but use Land of Lakes butter instead. Big difference in taste.

      Yes, but they won't be the same. Just go buy some buttermilk.

    • @dawnkindnesscountsmost5991
      @dawnkindnesscountsmost5991 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Freeze buttermilk if it all won't be used before it spoils; it's great for recipes like pancakes and biscuits, as the texture can become grainy after freezing.
      I use an ice cube tray, putting 2 tablespoons of buttermilk in each cube; my tray has 16 cubes, holds 32 tablespoons, which equals 2 cups, so 8 cubes is needed for this biscuit recipe. I thaw the cubes in a measuring cup overnight, and I stir the thawed buttermilk before adding it to the other ingredients. If the thawed buttermilk shows slightly under 1 cup, I add a few drops of regular milk (it's never been off by more than a teaspoon) to top it off at the 1 cup line.

    • @kathleenstoin671
      @kathleenstoin671 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @dawnkindnesscountsmost5991 I freeze buttermilk all the time, usually in one cup amounts. When it's thawed, I put it in the blender or use an immersion blender and blend it for 30 seconds or so, and the consistency is almost like fresh.

    My friend was making biscuits in the kitchen in his car but the oven was in the trunk, he went to put them in his oven & there was gun fire, he was shot 4 times, he screamed "The biscuits!!", dropped the pan, collapsed & died in the street. This happened 23 years ago. I am still haunted & suffering from what happened. Can never get over that.
