These are not all 1920s dances. The Charleston is the most famous. But those following are 20 years later. Then we see The Cakewalk, which is pre 1020. The clip identified as The Lindy Hop is The Jittterbug, which started in the late 1930s. "Jumpin' Jive" was a dance "number" done by The Nicholas Brothers in the 1940s. It was an exhibition dance, not a "popular" dance like the others. What is identified as "Fox Trot" is not by Ballroom Standards, as it is four count dance floor circulation dance similar to waltz that works counterclockwise. There is no kicking as in The Charleston or Black Bottom, as some of the clips are more like The Black Bottom. Also, there are more mixtures of exhibition, chorus, and social dances, which are separate categories. While all of this is great to see, there are some inaccurate representations here for those wanting to learn about 20th Century American Cultural history. Perhaps this would be a more fitting title for this piece.
Not so, my friend! The Lindy Hop was named in in honor of Lindbergh crossing the Atlantic, and that was in 1928. People were already dancing that style, but they started calling it that in the late 20s and it's been with us ever since.

Such an amazing and creative time for dancing and music. Hard to believe it's been 100 years since people were doing these dances daily.
You don't really see these type of dances to often now days nor do you even hear music that is over a hundred years old anymore!!!!😁

What you called balboa is a variation of Lindy hop- balboa is much more tightly spaced and is a four count dance
