I love polecats & ferrets so much. Thanks for uploading , great documentary showing how all the wildlife interacts with each other ,& the working farm , love nature & watching one of my favourite dog breeds , the smart Border Collie in action.

im watching this while my 2 month old ferret is fast asleep in a warm blanket, not having to deal with all of that so that i will have to keep letting her know that she jas got it good hahaha

I had a good friend and ferret that both passed away last year. My friend and I would put this on often and say that the polecat in this was our ferret's old relative. We loved watching this so much. The ending always got me, too. Something about a ferret having to leave off on it's own just breaks my heart. I hope it lived a happy and full life like its mother.

Enjoyed that ,its not often polecats are filmed in the wild , I dont have any near me only my own European polecats 😁

It was fun to watch. However, I would have liked some mention that the polecats do a better job of keeping the rats out than the cat can. It would have been 'earning their keep'.

A few years ago a chipmunk got into the house. I had 5 ferrets at the time (I have 7 now). My deaf ferret spotted the chipmunk and gave chase. He matched that chipmunks sudden change of direction like a seasoned hunter. Unfortunately, the other ferrets joined in. It was like youth soccer. As they all chased the chipmunk like a dog pack, they ran into each other. The chipmunk was able to get away. It was hilarious. My deaf ferret looked really upset because if they stayed out of it, he'd have caught the little bugger.

Ferrets and polecats are almost the same animal and can interbreed. In fact much of the wild population of polecats contains domestic ferret DNA from ferrets that were housed outdoors and mated with wild polecats. Domestic ferrets have been domesticated for about 3000 years.

Oh how I miss that! I used to live in France, and we had two churches quite close to us and a third one further away, so I always loved hearing the church bells ringing every quarter of an hour! It sure beats loud motorcycles, and I can also do without the constant barrage of sirens from the police and others here in Atlanta, Georgia. I'd love to get away from here all together.

@HECTIC VON KAOS people born in the 80s weren't making documentaries in the 80s, they were learning how to take a shit.
This particular documentary was made by someone born in 1935.
It also has nothing to do with my comment, which poked fun at the shitty anti-technology take in the parent comment.

My brother had two of these. They was called,Smokey and Bandid! We lived in the city, but he would get out dad to drive him miles to the countryside,so he could take them Rabbiting! Or sometimes even catch the train if he had to!😆 he loved them pole cats! There little graves, including small stones with there names on,are still in my parents garden,40 years later!😂 great little creatures though! and extremely intelligent!👌

This video would be interesting if it wasn't for the narrator not being so obsessed with the damn birds. Its was 6-8 Minutes related to the polecats and the rest was some birds and some sheep.
