Add a bit of water to it for a Bourbon and Branch (water). It cuts the sting down and mellows out the taste. A touch of water (not a lot) helps any type of whisk(e)y to open up the flavors. Sláinte!

@rolemodlin that's right! He also built a paper mill. So he could make paper from which the Bible could be printed...and give sermons on the Holy Spirit while distilling his own spirits. 😂

Elijah Craig is an actual distiller. Originally from Scotland, he found land in KY that had limestone spring water and began distilling spirits. It’s because of Craig barrels are charred for flavor during the aging process and he is known for being the first distiller to use glass bottles for his spirits. Truly considered the grandfather of bourbon.

@@mikecofojohn168the barrels were originally not charred but his barn caught on fire and charred the barrels but they didn’t burn completely up. Later he sold the whisky out of those barrels and people loved them. That became the go to from that accident.

I guess because Elijah Craig is from that time period and the bottle always reminds me of an old bottle, I got it in my head that I needed to watch that show while drinking this bourbon. I can’t answer that but now I want Elijah Wood and Daniel Craig to do a movie together. It might be two hours of them drinking Elijah Craig by the fire but I will watch that movie….

The pediatrician definitely told me to dip my finger in either whiskey or bourbon and rub on my babies gums when they were teething 🤣 it definitely helped... FYI also helped with grandchildrens teething

I think I remember my grandmother saying she used to dip a washcloth in whiskey and then have the teething baby suck on it -- chewing on the washcloth was also soothing to their gums.

I have not had that one.. I'm intrigued. I'm partial to rye myself. My favorite, so far, has a similar bottle but with a longer neck.. Angel's Envy, aged in rum casks.. yep, that's my after dinner drink tonight.. she says as her mouth waters a little.

Try the Jim Beam family of bourbons. Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, Bakers and Bookers.
    They're all excellent bourbons....

10:28 This will sound weird, but whispering is very hard on your voice over time. Voice actors and singers try to avoid whispering as much as possible. But with Elijah Craig, you'll never feel the strain happening!

indeed, bourbon is only made in america. 95% of all bourbon is made in Kentucky. then i wondered why bourbon street was in new orleans and it has nothing to do with alcohol.

You drink Bourbon, I click "Like". I enjoyed some Elijah Craig Barrel Proof with you, a 129 proofer. Yes, it's dangerous. It's so damned tasty. If you're in a drinkin' mood, best to take it easy on these high proofers or regret will follow.
