I hope you have a camping toilet in there somewhere in that weather. 😉 Suggestion #1. Keep a covered ice cube tray on the dash. If you wake up in the middle of the night and are thirsty, you can pop a cube in your mouth and let it dissolve. You can also fill a good thermos with hot tea, and take a sip during the night.....even if it doesn't stay HOT, it won't be frozen.

Buy a small portable heater looks like a very small fireplace made for campers! Elderly lady had it in her truck camper! She said it kept her very warm! She plugged 🔌 it in her cigar lighter and found it on Amazon! I will find the name and send it to you! Enjoy your videos seeing the outdoors! Hi Rosa, Just a suggestion to avoid having your drinking water being frozen. Perhaps you can slip your water bottle in your sleeping bag with you? That might reduce the time you need to defrost water. Great video looking forward to the next one.

Do you sleep with a hot water bottle? Does amazing things. Boil water into a sturdy uninsulated bottle. I like Nalgene quart bottle. And wrap it in a towel.

Best part about cooking in the van/car (in the winter) -- "free" heat :D You should probably start putting a small bottle of water in your sleeping encasement to keep something melted for the morning :)
Keep your water right near where you are sleeping. So your body heat can keep it from freezing solid. I've done that in about 15 degree weather in WA. I don't know about -15.

Battery and full synthetic oil (mobil 1) the best car batteries are from walmart , and if you ever need to exchange it , walmarts are everywhere. Old/Cheap oil gels up in cold weather (deadly for the engine) . Slow cranking is bad for the starter (it heats up the windings)

Hey there, I cook all the time in my HE. U need to open a window when I cook, u know that right? I cook 1 pot meals all the time. 😉 I can't stand that cold weather. 🥶 I'm a big wimp. 😅
Have you thought about putting a small bottle of water, like a 16 oz, at your feet in your sleeping bag ? I see a lot of thru-hikers do that. It stops it from freezing.
With the temp being so low, don't you find ice forming inside the car after you sleep? I could not do what you are doing, and don't even dare to think of sleeping in the car while it's that cold.

@@lifeinmyelement you should look for a cabin heater if you plan on doing that again regularly. Mini Diesel heater like webasto heaters are great to keep you Warm. It's safe and quite economical.
That weather looks so cold brrrr. It doesn’t get like that in Las Vegas where I’m from, thank god. When you sleep at night in those cold nights you should boil hot and put it in a good tough water bottle and then keep it in your sleeping bag so it’ll keep you warm and the water won’t freeze up that fast.

This entire video, once I noticed your gas tank, I couldn’t help but focus on it and worry that you would run out of gas and freeze even though you clearly are smart enough to NOT let that happen.

No need to apologize. If it's 40 degrees, I'm not cooking outside unless I have to.
Have a spare key, I've known someone in such cold weather and the key broke in the door when they tried to get in their car.
I like cold after boiling summers ..... for maybe 3-4 months... but cOLD gets OLD too.
To help prevent your water from freezing: Boil it, store in several small insulated bottles.
Maybe you should consider Florida during the winter

Your headlight is either a h7 or h11. And you really need a battery the way that car sounded starting. The cold cranking amps are struggling.

My goodness, this seems quite dangerous. Such a low temperature and no heating. Your water froze inside your car. It doesn’t seem safe.
Not completely safe and I don't recommend it. But the whole state was that cold so I didn't really have a choice 😳
check with your mechanic- idling with catalytic converters causes damages over time- you might want to look into a deisel heater
