Me, last year: "A QB only needs to meet a minimum physical threshold to be great, if his mental game is there." Caleb looks like he's going to be special when the adrenaline of living the dream wears off. He absolutely looked like he understood what was happening on the field most of the time. I've never seen a Bears QB who had this level of mental game in his first start. People see the stats and freak out. I see the film and get excited for what's coming. Nothing about the offense, aside from the line, has me worried. Caleb will be lighting it up soon.

great stuff guys... i've never really watched film hardcore before but i watched this one for hours right before finding this video, and i agree with pretty much everything you guys are saying. Caleb wasn't as bad as it seemed, it was like a murphy's law game, every time something good was about to happen, it was like the football gods said "nah we're gonna humble you for your first NFL game". Montez hurt his hand early, maybe that affected him the rest of the game a bit. The only time the titans ran down our throats was when Booker played a series, then he never saw the field again. Nate Davis was good other than that one play, Teven was horrible but hopefully it was just going up against two monsters that shook his confidence and made him start doing dumb stuff. What do you think about kyler gordon in coverage? Seems like he was making some mistakes in zone, especially on that 3rd and 15.

Thanks for recognizing Rome who, right now, is not a good route runner. Who am I but I felt that the Bears made a huge mistake passing on Brock Bowers who was probably the best player in the entire draft.

🐙 33-17 Texans. I want to believe in the Bears offense, but I can't trust it until I actually see it. I think the offense stalls out enough, and that with enough chances the Texans can put up points. Player I'm looking to watch: Caleb. I know it's a bit simple and obvious, but I really want to see some of that Caleb Magic. I want to see some glimpses of why he was considered such a big time prospect.

As much as it hurts to predict a loss after a wild win, Texans take this one 31-20 imo. I don't think we will generate enough pressure to stop Stroud and this great group of WRs. Either way, should be much improved offensively from last week

  • @Arothtic

Bears win 31-28, Caleb has a good day but in the end it’s the defense that wins it on a game ending turnover. Player I’m excited for is gonna be Montez Sweat. I think he’ll get his, even against Houston’s tackles. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎

If the Bears can lose a close game where Caleb looks better and the defense looks legit Ill take that all day. Honestly Ill even take a blowout where Caleb looks good. I want to see him looking for DJ and Kmet all game though, the only time our offense looked decent at all last year was when those 2 were popping off

Watching film of teams like Kansas City, Green Bay and so on. Remind me this is going to take time if ever. Assignments, play design, situational football. The Bears are very sloppy. It may have a bad plan. I sure hope the Bears are focusing more on the Details of every play. Taylor and the Bears need to master less plays before they do anything else. Blocking assignments are bad often missed the routes are by almost everybody. There needs to be concrete details for change within the play structure needs options other than audible. These guys need to.Gel

Marcedes Lewis said on a podcast before game 1 that the Bears are gonna shock the football world the first quarter of the season, then theyre gonna have to adjust to the league adjusting to them the 2nd quarter of the season. I thought for a player to say something like that...a prediction that specific was really f'in crazy to me, especially a lowkey guy like him. Like what if you started 1-3 and looked horrendous? Maybe hes an old man prophet and we totally destroy the Texans on national TV. Also i think you were spot on about Caleb on the road/at home, i had thought the same thing.

Lewis' concepts are sound football philosophy. I don't think he had the schedule in mind in saying what he did because we have our 2 easiest games of the year in the 2nd quarter of the year.

Great QBs - Brady and Mahomes come to mind - do not turn the ball over. It would be nice to think that this one game of Caleb means his "turnover head" is on straight. However, his college performances leave me needing to see a positive pattern vis a vis turnovers before believing that. Agree with the positive reviews of this one game of Caleb decision making.

really?!? (on the thought that physical mistakes are easier to swallow then mental ones) i feel the opposite. mental you grow into. but the accuracy, footwork, and wobbly passes i would hope the rookie QB would have down. could this all be nerves - yes and then i give him a pass. but the whole off-season i heard from his mouth 'never nervous', analysts calling him polished/NFL ready, and analysts also saying he has omnipotent pocket feel. all of these are lies according to game 1 tape.

Shouldn't the head coach also be responsible for the delay of game penalty? I see other head coaches call a timeout to avoid a delay of game all the time. Eberflus needs to help out his rookie QB.
