  • @shadmanrahman14

    I'm decently tall, picked this bass up a few months after playing an awful acoustic bass from G4M. The guys at the shop recommended this one and I won't lie, I was a little upset that having a short scale would mean I'd have less frets to work with (I like tapping) but honestly, I fell in love with it after just a couple days. Get the action nice and low, get a bassy amp and suddenly this 200 quid bass sounds like it's at least double that price tag!

    • @shadmanrahman14

      If I ever get the money to, I might maybe get a regular scale but honestly right now, most I might do is get some nice strings and some pedals to compliment this beauty!

    • @user-xw6uh3yp7g
      @user-xw6uh3yp7g 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      M.A. Hernandez full scale basses are harder for beginners and slightly pointless. People buy full size basses to over complicate things and to ‘challenge themselves’. Short scale basses are much easier to play being easier to stretch and get easy access of the fretboard. That’s my opinion on that subject but you can form your own listening to demos or just simply going to a local guitar store and seeing what feels right.

    I have short fingers. That's why I'm considering about getting this guitar. Also, I don't have experience with bass guitars. I play electric guitar and I have a few Fender Strats because I can play them better. Since this is a beginner guitar, I think it might suit me fine.

      I played drums for couple of years and wanted to learn something new. At the time I strated drums I hesitated with bass, so I decided 2 months ago to start bass. I bought a Gretsch G2220 (short scale) because I love its sound and because I have small hands. I am really enjoying it, I found it easier to start with than other normal scale bass I tried at shops since then... This Ibanez looks so good, I just read a review on the main french bassist magazine saying it is a great one. So yes go for it and enjoy !

    Technically as a bassists of 44 years and a defender of bassists who prefer the pick I hear by declare : you should master both plucking (jack Bruce) and picking (Chris Squire) . I can mute with my palm heel resting on the strings and pluck with my index however,
    muted picking is a great technique I use it in Roadhouse blues , plucking must be executed in Crossroads.
    I didn't hear enough bottom to this axe maybe different string?
    As carpultunnel sets in (expect it) I need a smaller neck.
    Maybe the epiphone EBO ?
    Will I still be respected or should I care?
